The team was founded in 1996 and we look forward to another strong year. We strive to provide our athletes with the best opportunity to compete regionally and nationally against the best of scholastic and club rowing programs. Our success on the water also translates to success in the classroom and beyond, as our athletes learn the discipline and skills that carry them beyond the waters. Many Ignatius rowers have gone on to row and study at preeminent institutions across the country. Our continued success is rooted in the efforts of our athletes, coaches, parents and board members. As a varsity club sport, the Ignatius crew team counts on the efforts of the parent volunteers to support the planning and implementation of facilities, equipment, logistics and regatta support.

Our roster is growing, but our fleet isn’t getting any younger. Join Saint Ignatius Chicago parents, coaches, and alumni on Saturday, November 14th for an adults-only evening at Dolce Arte (3622 S Morgan St, Chicago).
We’re gathering for drinks, appetizers, and great company—with the goal of funding new shells and an additional coaches’ launch for our expanding team.
🎟️ Tickets: $200 (limited capacity)
🅿️ Parking: Free lot north of MAC + street parking on Morgan

Head of the Maxinkuckee ’26
A strong start to the fall racing season.
Saint Ignatius Chicago opened its fall season today at the Head of the Maxinkuckee, hosted by Culver Academies on Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana. After a cool start to the morning, it was a great fall day to get back on the water and race.

The Wolfpack came away with four podium finishes, including two victories.

🥇 Boys Varsity Four — St. Ignatius A
🥇 Girls Varsity Four — St. Ignatius A
🥈 Boys Varsity Eight — St. Ignatius A
🥉 Girls Varsity Four — St. Ignatius C

Saint Ignatius Chicago Rowing opens the season with the Chicago River Marathon and Half-Marathon, starting right from our home boathouse on the South Branch of the Chicago River.

From the South Branch through downtown , our crews will compete past some of the city’s most iconic architecture and historic bridges. A great way to kick off the season on our home river.
