Hard to put into words what Ryne Sandberg has meant to the game, to the Cubs, and to so many of us who grew up watching him play the game the right way. A true legend both on and off the field.
I’ve been lucky enough to meet Ryne a few times throughout my life, and every time he was kind, humble, and gracious - just as you’d hope your childhood hero would be.
This year on Opening Day, as fate would have it, we crossed paths again. As we were both walking out of Wrigley, I gave him a fist bump. It was a small moment, but one that meant the world to me. I never imagined it would be the last time I’d see him in person.
Thank you, Ryno, for the years of memories. You’ll always be #23 in our hearts. 💙⚾️

First game in the books. It was as fun as I imagined it would be. Squeeze taking photos with the kids, Ketchup flashing the opposing pitchers, and a cute little gift shop.
Mini-me made out like a bandit. A couple of hats, an ice cream bowl piled high with swirl, and he even got 3 game balls!! He doesn’t know it yet, but he’s living his best life.

Last month I bought a used jersey from the Authentic Store. I did my research and found DJ grew up local to me and went to the high school down the road. I reached out to to see if he every got to sport the jersey during his time with the Cubs. We got to meet up, talk, and I reunited him with his jersey.
I knew his day was coming. Since our meeting back in July I could sense the passion and drive he had to get back into the game. Super stoked to see him land with such a prestigious ball club. It’s always been Cubs first and foremost for me, but the have been my AL team to root for.
Go kill it bro!!!

It took 4 long years, but I have finally completed my collection of the 2016 World Series 25 man roster signed baseballs. Luckily still makes these baseballs, otherwise this would have been even more difficult to complete.
13 of them were signed in person at various signings, or at Spring Training. 5 of them were done at signings I could not attend. And the rest we’re purchased through reputable companies such as or through shops that have done signings with the players in the past. I was also able to obtain some of the front office and radio personalities in person. Now to move onto the coaching staff and non WS roster.

I was once told by the wife I have a jersey addiction. While it took me some time to agree with her, I refuse to call it a problem. I call it a collection of memories from my childhood.

It’s not every day you are able to buy one of these off of the regular Facebook marketplace. It’s not in the best condition, but these don’t show up very often. Especially at the price I paid. Huge plus is that it has both cubs stickers on it.

I don’t know how any player could say no to this little guy right here. He’s getting into the hobby just like I am. We were down in for Chicago Cubs for a week. The first player to sign his ball was and the ball rolled from there. A total of 17 players were awesome and signed his ball. Most of the active roster would stop a few people short of us down the 3rd base line. He was a trooper and kept saying “tomorrow we get his to sign” as we went to every game at Sloan and even traveled up to Surprise Stadium for a game.
