Hockey Officials of Alaska Hockey Officials of Alaska is a dedicated officiating scheduling organization committed to fostering growth and development for all officials.

Our mission is to enhance the sport by building skills, and ensuring a positive impact on the hockey community. Hockey Officials of Alaska is a Referee Service / Scheduler for profit company, that follows ALL USA Hockey guidlines. We are Christian company. Currently Hockey Official's of Alaska provides services for the Sarvis Adult Hockey League, VETs Adult Hockey League, and MGHA Adult Hockey Leauge at the Subway Sports Centre. SARVIS ADULT HOCKEY LEAGUE

- Tag-up offsides rules apply.

- Two Certified USA Hockey Officials will be on the ice at all times.

- Any player assessed a game misconduct is ejected from the game. This player may not play in ANY games with ANY league teams until a two-game suspension has been served with the team from which he/she was suspended. The player's name is turned in to the league supervisor.

- Any player who receives three penalties in a game is ejected for the remainder of that game. That player is ejected from the current game only and his/her player card shall be returned at the end of the game unless receiving a game misconduct penalty.

- Slapshots are not allowed at all.

- Any shot taken with the stick above the waist is considered a Slapshot and will be blown for high stick.

- Games are three running clock periods of 17 minutes.

- With a running clock, a player whose penalty expires during a stoppage of play must wait until play resumes before returning to the ice.

- NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON THE PLAYERS' BENCH AT ANY TIME, IF ALCOHOL IS FOUND THE TEAM THAT COMMITTED THE INFRACTION WILL BE GIVEN A FORFIET/ LEAGUE SUPERVISOR WILL BE INFORMED. LET’S CLEAR THE CREASE.
There’s been some confusion. Let’s clear it up. 🏒

We’ve heard some questions and seen a little confusion about who we are, what we do, and why you’re seeing Hockey Officials of Alaska advertising more heavily right now.

First, Hockey Officials of Alaska and Alaska Hockey Officials are separate organizations.

Hockey Officials of Alaska primarily covers adult league hockey. Historically, our opportunities were for adults 18+, but we recently opened our program to ages 16+ because we see an opportunity to give teenagers meaningful work, flexible scheduling, mentorship, and a way to stay involved in the game.

Alaska Hockey Officials primarily serves youth hockey and has also provided mentorship and development opportunities for officials.

Were we the first organization to mentor officials? No.

Mentorship has been part of officiating for a long time, and both organizations recognize the importance of developing the next generation.

So, are we running an advertising campaign?

Yes. Absolutely.

We’re doing it because we believe our hockey community is stronger together. We want more people to know that officiating is an option. We want teenagers looking for flexible work to see an opportunity. We want former players, hockey parents, and anyone interested in learning the game from a different perspective to know there is a place for them.

At the end of the day, bringing a new official into the game benefits more than just one organization. It supports all.

Officials work as independent contractors, and opportunities can exist across different organizations and leagues. We can’t speak for the policies, requirements, or decisions of our counterparts, but we can speak for ourselves:

If you’re willing to learn, willing to work, and willing to be part of the hockey community, our door is open.

This isn’t about who was first.

It isn’t about competing for people.

It’s about developing more officials, creating more opportunities, and making sure the game we love has people ready to carry it forward.

Different organizations. Different games. One hockey community.

And we believe we’re stronger together.

Years in the making.

Today, I walked into the rink and saw our officials mentorship program on the screens for the first time. It represents years of ideas, conversations, challenges, and a belief that we could do more for the game we love.

Hockey’s greatest resource has always been its people.
