It was a nice year. Got my riding legs back and even changed my mind about getting old. I guess IT IS optional.
Looking forward to a new year full of adventures, getting in an even better shape and thanking
God for all his gifts and blessings.
See you crazy dudes on the trails......
Just ask my wife!!! lol

Crystal clear beautiful day at Anderson Truck Trail.

Very interesting sight before the ride. We were not only able to see the celestial alignment of Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and the moon, but also the International Space Station as it passrd by, AND caught in a picture too! Thanks to Art for his space events knowledge and celestial apps to advise use of this special sighting. LOVE night rides!!

Long overdue road ride with Peddle Warriors. Bonita Mall to the Imperial Beach Pier. Real nice November day.

Been a dogs age since an official ECC MTB group ride. Time to make this a habit again.

Tough little ride. Plenty of hills to keep the muscles warm and the lungs working.

This is how you top off the July 4th weekend.

Way behind in posting rides. This was a Tuesday night ride out to the state prison.
ECC nighttime mountain biking.
Only a few ECC mountain bike group members have the mindset to 'go for it', no matter how dangerous. Richard and son Josh nicely showing their two-wheel expertise. This drop is STEEP and HIGH. Video doesn't do either justice.

TJ River Valley ride at night can be an eerie adventure with single track that goes through some very dense river valley growth. It's very remote for a good portion of the ride. Being so close to the border brings on feelings of both safety (plenty of border patrol agents around) and also feelings of fear (from those trying to AVOID border patrol agents). Definitely an adrenaline rush when you hear bushes rustle. Fortunately, we had Sylvia was with us. :-) Nothing more dangerous than a frightened woman!!
Here's the ride....after I remembered to finally turn my app on near the bull fighting arena.

Tri-Canyon North bridge
Tri-Canyon North bridge that ECC members installed several years ago. Still functioning as designed....Special thanks to 'Drew George and Partners' Green Building Consultants http://www.dgp-inc.com/ for funding the project.

Been riding 2x/week but way behind in posting pics. Life's been busy lately!!

Just a little helmet strike. Dave did it cleanly 2 times earlier when the camera wasn't running.....

The perfect bike riding weather. Weather cooled off. Not a nicer group of riders anywhere.

Tri-Canyon South 8-29-2018. A tough little 5 mile ride. Watch the animation...

Nice EZ ride to get back into riding shape. Fun group, lots of laughs.
Everybody LOVES a show off!!
The fun we've had!!!!! Michael Del Hill in action....

Otay Lakes ride - Time to get this bike group back into action.

Trans Country Trail Christmas Tree Ride 12-13-2017 - A cool late evening ride up to the 'vertigo' Christmas Tree. Watch the previously posted video that Pat Murray produced to see the vertigo effect. Very fun evening with Pat and Roger, who rode that awesome Cannondale tandem bike.
Trans County Trail - Christmas Tree Vertigo
The string of lights that make up the Trans Country Trail Christmas tree MUST be experienced from the INSIDE, looking up and spinning around. The vertigo is unbelievable. Unfortunately, the video showing Roger doing the vertigo spin was cut a few seconds short, missing him staggering then falling onto the ground. It is SO strange. Thanks Pat for this great video production.

The Salvation Army 30th annual Light Up Your Life Toy Drive was again a great success. It brought toys to those families who struggle at Christmas time. This 40+ mile ride was attended by several hundred riders, each bringing a toy that was donated at the Salvation Army center in Le Mesa. Great event, well organized, and a FANTASTIC cause.

A fine group of riders enjoying time in America's finest city. November is a perfect time to ride in San Diego.

A relaxing late September country setting ride through the wineries and apple orchids around Julian. We even found the 'worlds greatest sausage' company :-) ! Enjoyed coffees and a slices of Julian pie in town. All in all, rides don't get much better than this one.

Otay Lakes 9-16-17 - Only a couple sections of trail still underwater from the very heavy spring rains we had. Couple more months and they should be back.

Great getting back on the saddle after several months off. Great group to get out with.

Great evening out at t he lakes. Water level from the rains several weeks ago still remarkably high, with some trails still underwater. Made for some interesting bushwhacking to get around the obstacles.

Mucha agua ride....after much rain, although the trails were dried out well, the water level was high enough to cover the trails in several places. Much needed rain....
