Emotional eating is possibly the top reason people struggle when dieting.
How often have you had something stressful happen to find yourself driving up to your favorite local eatery and ordering your comfort food (for me it's wings or a breakfast burrito) and almost mindlessly eating it in an out of body experience?
It happens quite a bit, maybe more than people are aware of.
It's often how people are conditioned to manage stress, sadness or any other feeling. But our comfort foods won't help.
If you are eating because you feel lonely, what could you eat that would make that go away?
The reason stress eating is so challenging is that many people never address the core emotion they are feeling.
And, being honest, it's hard.
Addressing deep feelings can be a raw experience for a lot of people. Exploring these feelings though, can help people really identify what is going on, and possibly how to address it.
If it's stress, maybe we need better outlets to manage stress, maybe it's walking, playing with loved ones, a nice whirlpool bath or bubble bath, or kicking back and watching your favorite anime.
Whatever it is it'll take some time to figure out
But remember, no pizza in the world will fill the void of grief, or depression, or lonelyness.
So really listen to the quote by Dr. Michelle May
"when a craving doesn't come from hunger, eating will never satisfy it"
Do your best to try to identify the real reason you are eating.

I would workout ( here and there, never as consist as now ) but I would lift and try to eat better but I never saw a significant change as I did completing this challenge!
The workouts are amazing I always leave feeling like I pushed myself, I feel myself getting stronger and most of all I always get a good sweat sesh!
The nutrition plan Is one of the best plans I have seen! ( in the past I had tried counting macros, no meats, or no carbs )
Yes we all kind of already know “good” foods, what to eat and what not to eat. But Adrian breaks this down to a list! literally. This way you’re clear about what to eat and what you can not eat.
However, Don’t be alarmed you do not feel hungry or deprived at all.
I was surprised how fast the 6 weeks flew by but I was so happy with the results that came from the hard work I put in.
Overall this gym has changed the way I look at workouts and most importantly food!
I am happy I completed this challenge and I am so happy to continue here at evolution fitness.
* I lost 23 lbs & 4.5% body fat!!

One Hunge mistake holding back your results!
" I had a hard workout today so I deserve have pizza."
This statement can be disasterous to people's results and most people don't know it.
Yes, during a hard workout you are burning calories, but are you really burning as much as you think?
We explain why eating the calories you burned can be a huge mistake and why it slowls down fatloss results.
And y'all think we do single-leg deadlifts for nothing. Y'all about to be the best at picking up bags with your mouth lol
Really though, having balance on one leg, being able to hinge is vital for a health and capable body as we age.
Ability to balance and confidence in walking gate is one of the most important factors when it comes to preventing falls.
Give this little challenge a try.
fill-in-the-blank, "if i could change one thing about my diet it would be _____"
Ooo these look amazing! You could even make these using carb smart tortillas, greek yogurt and filling with ground turkey if you wanted more protein and less calories :)
Exercise can simply be because it is fun, engaging and makes you feel good. There doesn't have to be a big goal in mind.
One of the reasons Adrian has gotten into trail running is because of the experience of it. Not because it burned calories or it helped him lose weight.
Simply the sense of wonder, discovery, the sights and exploration of trail running is just a pleasure.
What are your thoughts on this?
Just because you’re in the gym several days a week doesn’t mean you need to be getting shredded.
Just because you go out jogging doesn’t mean you have to be training for a race.
There’s no specific way someone is “supposed” to look if they exercise regularly.
There’s not a set standard for how strong someone should be because they lift weights.
I’m partial to lifting weights and walking, as that’s the combo that makes me feel my best. Yours may be different.
Want to train to get stronger? Awesome - you know I’m all about that.
But it’s also completely okay to engage in physical activity simply because you enjoy it.
You won't go into starvation mode if you skip a meal!
What is starvation mode and do I need to worry about it if I miss a meal?
You can have a slowing of your metabolism after MONTHS and MONTHS of chronic dieting. It's called adaptive thermogensis and it typically takes months to onset and may take months to recover from without rebounding weight.
The biggest issue with missing a meal and weight gain, would be the hunger and the decision making that would come from the missed meal and possibly leading to binge/overeating.
Eating frequently MAY very slightly increase metabolism, but for most people this difference is very small and mostly coming from having protein frequently.
It's most important to eat enough meals to make you feel great and manage hunger, don't be worried if you miss a meal, just adjust the rest of the day and make some changes.

I was shocked….
What do you mean?
There was no way calories don’t work. I mean its thermodynamics. Fundamental laws of physics but……I wanted to hear what my good friend had to say though.
“How do you explain stress, or sleep or things like that? Those aren’t calories!”

We’ve been prepping the studio to open back up! It looks like we might even be ready to go this coming Monday (Only if we’ve been approved by our local government)! Everyone has been so great and understanding through all this, we ask for your continued grace as we ease into opening up.
