After a few months of “Hey, I need this back tomorrow night before 6:00” — we have officially hit the season of “Take your time, I don’t need it back for a couple months” and “I got a glove I need to get to you”
I hate when the season is over but both have steady gloves coming through. I will be able to post more before and after photos of these projects.
Thanks for sending me your gloves and it’s time for me to get to work.

Lefty Magic! Another edition to the black and yellow color combo! The colors pop!
Season is in full swing! Let me know if there are any repairs you might need.

Easter is just around the corner! How about an all PINK relace? I think it came out looking really good and I made sure to get some more of the same color in stock.
Good luck this season!!!

National Sibiling Day! (So Facebook tells me)
Two Gloves. Two Brothers. Color zip ties can show them which glove is which or a splash of white used in different ways can too. Both got a clean and replaced faux leather lacing with some high quality leather. These gloves have some new life.
I have used zip ties to fix a glove between innings and seen many others temporarily fixed the same way. Use what you got to get by, then get it done right!

Another project of a HOH Rawlings leather from decades ago that got all new laces because of thinning to get ready for this season. Proper color on one of these gloves still gives it the timeless look and feel, and this father gets to watch his son use his "old glove" when he plays.

Out with the old (blue) and in with the new (yellow)
The black and yellow color combo is nice. It pops!
I am trying to take a few more pictures during the process to give some ideas to what all is involved. This one shows the amount of lace in a glove. It takes between 4-5 full 6 foot length pieces of leather to restring a glove completely. Add an extra 1-2 for a trapeze web, catchers glove or first baseman's glove.

The amount of color options of lace that are available now....Wow!
Lots of manufacturers even allow custom building of gloves with picking out your lace and even the leather itself comes in very flashy colors. This project was to match the team colors for this youth player (my nephew). I do not think color will get you less errors (fielding), more strikeouts (pitching) or even more wins (Team over Me) - but if Mom (my sister) thinks you look good and you get some street credit in the dugout - I guess that's a win too!
Sometimes the work I do in the background of the flashy color change is where the real value is. This glove was very dried out (notice the paleness). Getting the conditioner in the glove will make this glove last longer and the laces.

A good piece of leather can be restored. Not all gloves these days are even made with leather, but most of the ones back in the day were. This project was a glove that a dad used as a kid and now his kids use it. It had a broken lace in the fingers, but needed a good conditioning and oil treatment. It actually took several conditioning treatments and this one is back to normal. The color change when the leather receives moisture again is always fun to see when I look at the before and after pictures.

Another used market find!!! Just needed some moisture back into the leather and the color and life came right back to this heart of hide leather. You invest in a good piece of leather and it can last decades if taken care of. The owner wanted a little splash of flair in baby blue laces and he's ready to get going this spring. The color came out really nice after completion.
