Day 1: Jailah’s first experience on the mat, warming up, practicing drills, and sparring. 🥹🥹 Extremely emotional and sentimental moment in my fatherhood journey.

Su***de has always been a sensitive topic because I’ve lost too many that I was close to or served with that ultimately secured peace by not remaining among us above.
Ten years ago, I was selfishly opinionated and made the loss of best friends and brothers-in-arms about my feelings for them not reaching out instead of what they were drowning in every day.
I support and all organizations that genuinely serve service members of all branches trying to receive the severe mental health care we all sacrifice for.

11th Anniversary COP Fortitude Afghanistan
This is a small portion of my journal entry expressing my gratitude over the last eleven years since my deployment to Afghanistan.
I’ve maintained my military friends and relationships that are dear to me since I decided to separate in October 2021.
I left the people and politics that strained all service members' careers. I ultimately love and embody the full-time Dad life, making amends, forgiving what was, and making the lifestyle changes that will grant me the peace of mind I deserve and desire.
I deserve it because I’m putting the work in to achieve it with my military chapter closed, and I don’t have any regrets. I don’t wish to have changed any events within my eighteen-year career. I grow up in the military from a boy to a man, now on another page in a new chapter, refining myself into the man, father, brother, friend, and partner I want to be moving forward.

Rest Day
Let’s break down what a Rest Day actually is:
The purpose for the REST DAY is to give your muscles (body) the necessary recovery time to heal and rebuild.
This means you have to be mindful of your calorie intake since you’re not burning the normal calories you’re accustomed to. You have to consume small portions to maintain your fitness goals.
A rest day is self care. Alleviating any additional stress will help with your body recovery, muscle growth & development.
So, massages, spa treatments, cupping, acupuncture & cryotherapy; all with their own health benefits are all practices in recovery training.
