Sherman Lee Dillon was called home to rest among the saints. 

Sherman Lee loved music. We knew him as a dancer, but most knew him as a very talented musician.  Beginning last night and for the next few classes, my Zumba classes at the Y will close with a stretch to the music of Sherman Lee. 

I will never forget his bright smile, warm presence, and love for Selena. He will be greatly missed.

As a Zumba instructor in East Tennessee, I worked quickly to make choreo for last night’s Zumba class. This morning, I was able to bring variations for Zumba Gold and Zumba Gold Chair. I’m off to my next class, to honor Dolly and hopefully bring some of the joy she gave to so many of us. 🫶🏽

Kaitlin is back to teaching her high intensity Zumba and we are so excited to have her energy at the new morning timeslot!

I never film my Zumba classes but every once in a while a gem like this will drop.  I’m grateful not only for the moments that make it on camera, but the hundreds of hours of memories that I hold in my heart with my students ❤️

This is what it looks like to have the best job in the world. Many thanks to Remember Me for getting this footage today and for being such a wonderful facility to hold classes. It is a very special experience there where residents and staff alike dance together.  If you know me, you know that intergenerational, inclusive, and all-ability dance is part of my mission.

Dance is for everyone.  Happiness is for everyone. Health is for everyone.
