We had to do some running around and couldn’t make dinner. It happens.

That’s okay - I bake or roast them just for me!

Plate it! 1/2 veggies, 1/4 fiber-filled carbohydrate, 1/4 protein.

I could eat cole slaw, sweet potato, salmon patties every day of the week.

No measuring, no portions, it’s freeing!!!!

But first, H2O or water 💦

I should not be eating this late and I should be sleeping - but I need to eat something or tomorrow I will crave bad stuff.

Ooops - I cooked my turnip fries a little too long - that is what happens when you cook sweet potatoes with another veggie.

Menu:
Roasted Turnips Fries
Roasted Potatoes
Ground turkey

Those are roasted parsnips (veggies most 1/2 the plate), roasted potatoes (fiber filled carbohydrates 1/4 the plate) and ground turkey (protein 1/4 the plate).

So did you do Monday's exercise of digging up your WHY?

So this is pretty important because we are going to be working for 90 days and I want this to stick to you like peanut butter (mmmm that sounds good).

Please mark your WHY on a letter size piece of paper and take a picture of yourself with your WHY and post it here.

With this effort, I will know you are serious and you will be working this plan.

Transformation Tuesday!

My story begins with a friend of a friend asking me to join a Challenge Group. 21 Day Fix. August 2015.

The accountability group included 5 other ladies all dedicated to achieving the same goal. I ordered my Challenge Pack including Chocolate Vegan Shakeology and started my journey.

I eat pretty good but my quantities are more like a man's plate / maybe more.
I had been walking and then started running with Dixie (our Golden/Collie mix) around our neighborhood - not far or fast. I had my NutroBullet and had started making protein shakes the previous Nov2014.

So I read my literature that came with my DVD's and started with the plan. I was pretty good with the potion control - at least during the weekdays - and I loved Shakeology. I was eating quinoa as a new grain instead of rice or pasta or potatoes. I would make 1 cup of dry and would get maybe 6 servings (? going by memory) and package them so they would be ready for dinner, lunch, etc.

I started experiencing very bad gas - and although I heard through talking with others that Shakeology can present some stomach upset the first 1-2 weeks while your gut gets used to the probiotics, pre-biotics & digestive enzymes, I could not deal with this pain (and awful stink).

I stopped using the Shakeology and returned it for a full refund.
I went back to the protein powder I purchased at Sam's and continued my journey.

My 21 Day Fix workouts were not in line with my eating though. I barely got through the first week when the pain of the first few days bent my spirit and determination.

The Challenge Groups continued and I joined the invites with some leaving and new co-challengers joining.

Then in January 2016 I started to do the exercise program along with the eating plan. Everyone starts a plan in January, right? New Year's Resolutions and all.

I finished the program this time (one round) and it laid on the shelf on and off for a few months until Spring 2016 when another Challenge group was put together by my coach Regina Kahnert. I began again to go through the 21 Day Fix workout.

By this time, Dixie and I had increased our run to 3/4 to 1 mile during the weekday morning and 1-1/2 to 2 miles on Sat & Sun.

Then Regina invited me to a BeachBody Super Saturday event. I went there thinking they were going to sell Shakeology & T-shirts & DVDs - kind of like a craft fair. I didn't realize that I was going to hear from folks whose transformation stories not only told of big changes in their bodies but changes to their overall view of life and to their outlook of their future - especially after becoming a coach and learning how they made changes to help transform others lives.

A month after that event, I signed up as a coach. My why: to help my husband Leonard get healthier. He wasn't eating breakfast like he used to when he was working every day in construction and then when he worked at Lowe's plus I needed to help him fight against the toxins he was getting from his pain meds he was taking every day. I needed him to be here to help raise our boy. So Shakeology for him since I couldn't drink it. Cafe Latte had just come out as the newest flavor and it was perfect for him.

His green box came and he loved it! I was ecstatic beyond belief and he continued to drink it because to him it meant so much to me.

About a week into making it for him, I thought I would try it too. At this point, I had determined that the abdominal pain & gas was related to the quinoa I had been eating in large quantities over a short period of time, as I had continued to make it (I had found it at Sam's Club so I had a larger bag to use up) and as a result, the abdominal pain & gas had come back. I isolated that to the quinoa.

I loved Shakeology too! And this time no stomach upset! So I was safe to order my own flavor (vanilla) so that we had enough for the 2 of us each day.

So since May 2016 my weight loss has been 8.8 lbs and 12.5 inches!
I am attaching my BeachBody screens where you log in your progress so you can see for yourself my numbers in black & white (that are the colors accountants like to see number in, lol).

I would not be showing these pictures of my transformation without Regina & Len and without Shakeology. And without my master trainer, Autumn Calabrese. Oh, and my CEO, Carl Daikeler. Oh and the creator of Shakeology, Darin Olien. I feel like I won an award - I DID!!!!!!!

My daily dose of dense nutrition has really reduced those inches in the middle - 5 inches GONE!
My journey continues...........at age 54 young............
