Alexa discovered yoga 12 years ago at a local gym and she instantly had a connection with the practice, not because she was good at it, but because she was challenged in ways she didn’t expect. What started as a twice a week yoga class quickly became a part of her regular routine. Yoga had such a great impact on her life. It challenged not only her body but also her mind in ways she never imagined. As she began to practice more regularly, she realized that she wanted more peace and calm in her life. Her practice led her to discover the many spiritual and mental benefits of yoga. After a few years of constantly showing up on her mat, a passion arose in her to dive deeper into the practice, which brought her to a new path and decided to get her certification to teach. She believes that yoga has something to offer each and everyone, her hope as a teacher is to help her students find the many benefits of yoga on their own path while providing a safe and encouraging space.

Aside from teaching yoga, Alexa is also a TRX suspension instructor. With that said, you can expect her classes to challenge you while helping you gain some flexibility and strength.

[04/19/21]   How much water should I drink per day?!

The general recommendation is:
11.5 cups (2.7 liters) a day for women
15.5 cups (3.7 liters) a day for men

This includes fluids from water, beverages like teas and juice, and from food. You get an average of 20 percent of your water from the foods you eat. Many factors play into how much water you need, including environment, health and level of activity.

A Note from your Trainer/Owner

Hey y’all!

My name is Mariah and I am excited to join you in your fitness journey to encourage, inform and support you as you become the best version of yourself. I have over a decade of working with children and adults with disabilities, ranging on a very wide spectrum including physical, mental, sensory and intellectual. My education ranges from an AA in elementary education, BA in special education and pursuit of MA in behavior analysis. National Academy of Sports Medicine awarded me with my personal training certification and I am pleased to merge behavior analysis and the fitness industry together. I saw a need and decided to tackle it myself. My working experience and personal experience have created the ultimate foundation of Trucks & Trainers LLC.

My love for fitness did not develop until shortly after I had a year of multiple strokes, seizures and rehabilitation. After fighting to learn how to walk, talk and live again, I fell in love with the human body and what it was capable of. I began to change my nutrition and physical activity because my life depended on it. With some time and dedication, I was able to get off all of my medication, stop having seizures, decrease my chronic inflammation and migraines. Fitness has become such a key role in my life- I have decided to dedicate my time, effort and knowledge to better serve those around me to become the best version of themselves. All of us are uniquely faced with obstacles and we have control of whether it makes or breaks us.I’m here for you and your family… how can I help?
