We are very excited to see everyone who has registered for the Rocky Mountain State Games on Saturday! It looks like we will have a great turnout, and you still have until 11:59 PM tonight to register. Resurrecting this event in the Rocky Mountain State Games is meant to inspire divers of all different levels in a fun and supportive atmosphere, and help keep diving alive and well in Colorado. There are also some very cool medals!

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT HOW TO FIND THE FOUNTAIN VALLEY SCHOOL POOL! If you enter "Fountain Valley School" into your GPS, it will send you the wrong way. GPS will send you to Goldfield Drive, but you need to access the campus through the main entrance, which is off of Grinnell Blvd. GPS will get you to Bradley Road just fine, but you need to turn earlier than it tells you. Please see the map below for details. Once you are on the campus and have entered through the main gate (there may or may not be a guard on duty for you to check in with), stay as far right as you can. You will pass by an outdoor field, tennis courts, and equestrian stables before coming to the main parking lot for the athletic center. Once in the parking lot, follow the signs to RMSG Diving.

See you Saturday!

Kyle Van Valkenburg Returns to Air Force, named Head M&W Diving Coach - Air Force Academy Athletics 07/19/2023

This week will be our last week of summer lessons. Coach Jim will be out of town for the next two weeks, substitute coaching at the RipFest diving camp in Indiana, while the RipFest head coach is at the World Championships. He will be reunited with former CSDC Coach Dylan, who is also coaching at the camp. It will be mini-reunion for CSDC coaches!

And speaking of former CSDC coaches, a huge shout out to former CSDC coach Kyle Van Valkenburg, who was named the new head coach at the United States Air Force Academy.

When you're taking pictures to highlight the amazing facility you're thankful to have access to, and you capture a beginning diver in this position... It's like it was a planned photoshoot! Only it wasn't.

It is well known that diving is a great sport for ex-gymnasts, but contrary to popular belief, gymnasts aren't the only ones who can dive. Diving is a highly accessible sport, and many of the kids we've taught with backgrounds in gymnastics, wrestling, dance, soccer, swimming, snowboarding, rock climbing, karate... (you get the point) have successfully transitioned to diving.

If you're at all interested, give us a shout out!

Are you an adult who always wanted to do something but didn’t? Maybe you didn’t have the opportunity, or maybe you’re building a bucket list. We had athletes between the ages at 12 and 34 at lessons today, all working at different levels with different goals, and it was a blast!

Please consider registering for a diving event at the Rocky Mountain State Games! It is 1m only, and there is an event for everyone, from complete novices to seasoned divers. The meet will be held at the Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs. CSDC Coach Jim Hocking is the meet director, and has worked hard to get RMSG to add diving back after it was dropped during COVID. It would be wonderful to have a good turnout to help prevent diving from being dropped again. The details about the different levels can be found below. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions!
