A New Chapter šŸ¤

Four years.

Four years of early mornings, late nights, muddy boots, big dreams, hard lessons, victories, setbacks, laughter, tears, and more memories than I could ever put into one post.

Today, I’m sharing something that is incredibly bittersweet: I am stepping away from running the barn, and TR Equine will be taking over the day-to-day operations moving forward.

This decision was not made lightly.

There is so much work, time, love, and pieces of myself that have gone into building this over the last four years. Walking away from something you have poured your heart into is never easy. There is pride in what I’ve built, gratitude for what it has taught me, and, honestly, a little sadness in letting go.

But sometimes growth means recognizing when it’s time for a new chapter.

The good news is that this isn’t goodbye. I will still be taking lessons and haul-ins, so I’m not completely stepping away from the people and horses that have become such an important part of my life.

Moving forward, TR Equine will be running the barn and will be providing boarding and training board services. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to hand this chapter over to someone I trust and excited to see what TR Equine brings to the barn and the people who call it home.

I am so incredibly grateful for every person who has walked through those barn doors over the last four years. For every customer who trusted me with their horses. For every lesson, every haul-in, every training ride, every conversation, every success we celebrated, and even the mistakes that taught me lessons I couldn’t have learned any other way.

Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for supporting me.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn, grow, and do what I loved for the last four years.

Thank you for being part of the story.

This isn’t an ending. It’s a new beginning.

Sometimes we have to loosen our grip on something we love to make room for what comes next. I don’t know exactly what that next chapter will look like yet, but I know I’m walking into it carrying everything these four years have taught me.

I’m leaving this chapter with a full heart, an enormous amount of gratitude, and so much love for the people and horses who made it what it was.

Here’s to four incredible years. And to whatever comes next. šŸ¤šŸ“

Thank you for everything.

Thursday Thoughts as a no-name observer in this industry with nothing but a passion for these animals✨:

Being in the horse industry is one of the hardest, most thankless career choices you can make.

Whether you board horses, train them, teach lessons, shoe them, provide bodywork, haul, or work as a veterinarian, your job doesn’t stop because you’re tired, sick, burned out, or having a bad day. The horses still need you.

The reality is that this industry asks for everything. Your time. Your body. Your weekends. Your holidays. Your finances. Your heart.

And yet, too often, the loudest voices aren’t the ones saying ā€œthank you.ā€ They’re criticizing, comparing, judging, or waiting for someone to make a mistake. Instead of lifting each other up, we’ve created an environment where people are afraid to ask questions, afraid to make mistakes, and constantly feel like they have to prove themselves.

It’s no wonder so many incredible horsemen and horsewomen walk away. It’s no wonder so many are exhausted. Burned out. Questioning whether they can keep doing what they love.

Imagine what this industry could look like if we gave encouragement as freely as we give criticism. If we celebrated growth instead of gatekeeping knowledge. If we remembered there’s a human being behind every trainer, barn owner, farrier, body worker, veterinarian, and horse professional.

This industry will always be hard. Horses deserve that level of commitment.

But it doesn’t have to be this toxic.

A little more kindness. A little more grace. A little more appreciation.

I think we’d all be surprised by how many good people would stay. Just a thought ā¤ļø

As we prep to head back to school, I want to give a huge shoutout to Maddie. ā¤ļø

This summer, Maddie came to me with a goal—to learn the sport of barrel racing. From the moment she swung a leg over Wh***ey, the two of them just clicked. Watching their partnership grow has been one of the highlights of my summer.

Every run hasn’t been perfect and that’s exactly the point. Each time they enter the arena, they come out a little stronger, a little more confident, and with another lesson under their belt. Watching Maddie put in the work, stay coachable, and keep showing up has been so rewarding.

Success in this sport isn’t measured by one fast run. It’s built through consistency, resilience, and the willingness to keep learning. Maddie has embraced that, and it’s been incredible to watch her confidence grow with every ride.

I’m so proud of you, Maddie. Thank you for taking such great care of Wh***ey and trusting the process. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings. šŸ’™šŸ“

Here’s to an amazing school year and even more growth in and out of the arena!
