Mayor Pro Tem @tinaherbertsc joined the Office of Business Opportunities, community members, and the founders of @themovementlabsc to celebrate the center's grand opening at 1223A Franklin St. During the event, Mayor Pro Tem Herbert shared remarks on the importance of investing in small businesses and spaces that support wellness, creativity, and community connection. Founded by arts educators and artistic directors Martha Brim and Linda K. Johnson, The Movement Lab @ NOMA brings together dance, yoga, Pilates, massage therapy, and community arts programming in a welcoming environment designed to help individuals thrive. The new center will serve as a hub for movement, artistic expression, and community engagement through classes, workshops, performances, book clubs, poetry readings, and more. #NOMA #ColumbiaSC #TogetherWeAreColumbia

Meet Angela Gallo, Richland Library's Spring 2026 Artist-in-Residence!

Angela is the Artistic Director of Sapphire Moon Dance Company, as well as Dean and Professor of Dance Emeritus at Coker University. Her choreography and dance film works explore themes of identity, transformation, memory, and resilience. During her residency, Angela plans to offer a dynamic range of workshops rooted in dance, somatics, Pilates, and creative exploration.
