The Columbus and Cincinnati/Dayton Tours held a one-day event on Saturday, April 25th, at the beautiful Urbana Country Club in Urbana, Ohio — known as “The Original Dye Course.”

A total of 56 competitors teed it up on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and Urbana once again delivered a fantastic tournament setting.

Division 1 – Field of 8

Division 2 – Field of 6

Division 3 – Field of 20

Division 4 – Field of 12

The Amateur Players Tour of Kentucky, Columbus, and Cincinnati/Dayton hosted an Elevated Event at nationally ranked NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.

Playing at 7,018 yards from the back tees as a par 71, NCR’s South Course provided a true championship test with heavily wooded rolling terrain, demanding doglegs, strategically placed bunkers, and thick rough.

The South Course has a storied championship history, having hosted the 1969 PGA Championship, the 1986 U.S. Women’s Open, the 1998 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, the 2005 U.S. Senior Open Championship, the 2013 USGA Women’s State Team Championship, and the 2022 U.S. Senior Women’s Open. It will also host the 2027 PGA Junior Championships.

With afternoon winds picking up and temperatures climbing into the high 70s, the championship layout proved to be a major challenge for the 116-player field. Below are the results by division:

Division 1
A field of 14 players battled it out, and 18 holes were not enough to decide a winner. Josh Earnest, Andrew Buse, and Ben Palmer all fired even-par rounds of 71 to force a playoff. In the end, Ben Palmer made the trip from Parkersburg, West Virginia worthwhile, capturing the trophy and prize money, while Josh Earnest and Andrew Buse finished tied for second.

Division 2
With 33 players in the field, the final nine holes featured constant movement at the top of the leaderboard, with the lead changing hands five different times. Cathleen Wong carded a strong 3-over-par 74 to earn the victory. John Wayne Parrish, who made the trip from North Carolina, finished second at 5-over 76, while Black Smith was just one shot back in third with a 6-over 77.

Division 3
Jeremy Roush continued his steady, consistent play, posting an 8-over 79 to claim the win in a 32-player field. Adam Hill finished second with a 9-over 80, and Andy Patton rounded out the top three at 10-over 81.

Division 4
In a field of 21 players, Johnny Sherman picked up his 1st victory of the 2026 season as he held on to secure a one-shot victory with a 15-over 86. David Dietz and Joey Fyall II finished tied for second, each posting 16-over 87.

Division 5
Derek Stinefield carried momentum from Sunday’s event, where he finished second, and turned it into a victory on Monday. Derek earned a comfortable three-shot win with a 17-over 88. Quintin Jessee, playing in just his third start on Tour, finished second with a 91, while Kevin Forwith came in third, four shots behind the leader.

Mid-Am Net
With a field of 16, Derek Stinefield capped off a strong day by also taking home the Mid-Am Net trophy and prize money, finishing one shot ahead of James Pearce and Johnny Sherman.

Senior Net
A strong field of 40 players competed in the Senior Net division, and Adam Hill made the drive down Route 71 worth it, earning a one-shot victory over Braden Power, Kevin Forwith, and David Dietz.

A special thank you goes out to Rob Karnes and his staff at NCR Country Club for their outstanding hospitality and for having the course in tremendous condition for this Elevated Event.

The Columbus and Cincinnati/Dayton Chapters of the Amateur Players Tour held a one-day event on Sunday, April 12, at the beautiful Country Club of the North in Beavercreek, Ohio. With cooler temperatures in the morning and afternoon highs reaching the mid-70s, the Jack Nicklaus-designed gem proved to be a tough test for the field of 91 golfers representing seven different states.

Known for its championship pedigree, Country Club of the North delivered exactly that, with fast greens and course conditions that challenged every division.

Division 1
An 11-player field went to battle, and four different players held the lead at one point during the round. In the end, Jeff Sullivan separated himself from the field, firing an outstanding 3-under-par 69 to claim the victory. Josh Earnest finished solo second, four shots back, while Ben Palmer and Andrew Miller tied for third, five shots behind the winner.

Division 2
In a strong field of 24 players, Taylor Fry made the trip from West Virginia well worth it, carding a 2-over-par 74 to earn a one-shot victory. Michael Hall and Parv Soulati shared second place, just one stroke back.

Division 3
Dan Maloney turned in a career-best round on the APT, posting a 6-over-par 78 to earn a one-shot victory in a 24-player field. John Blackburn and David Yoder finished tied for second, just one shot behind.

Division 4
Kenneth Kidd, 74 years young, put together an impressive performance in a 19-player field, shooting 12-over-par 84 to take home the trophy and prize money back to Kentucky. Joey Fyall II and Van Rome finished tied for second, each just one stroke behind.

Division 5
Coming off a second-place finish a few weeks ago at Miami Valley Golf Club, Marshall Kiser got the job done this time in impressive fashion. Kiser cruised to a four-shot victory over Derek Stinefield, while Leo Chmielewski and Aaron Holman tied for third.

Mid-Am Net
In an 18-player field, Dan Maloney doubled up on the day, capturing the Mid-Am Net title as well. Jason Walling finished second, while John Sherman and Derek Stinefield tied for third.

Senior Net
Marshall Kiser also doubled up with a win in the 26-player Senior Net division, taking home the first-place trophy and prize money. John Blackburn finished second, and Parv Soulati took third.

Congratulations to all of our winners and competitors for a fantastic event.

A special thank you goes out to Matt Fraser and his staff for not only their great hospitality, but for having the course in such championship condition.

The momentum continues tomorrow, Monday, April 13, at the nationally ranked NCR Country Club for an Elevated event, where 116 players are set to take on the South Course.

April 2026 Tournaments

Photos from Columbus/Central Ohio APT GOLF's post 03/23/2026

The Columbus and Cincinnati/Dayton Amateur Players Tour came together on March 22 for a joint event at historic Miami Valley Country Club. With perfect weather setting the stage, the course—founded in 1919 and host of the 1957 PGA Championship—delivered a true championship test for a strong field of 69 players 5 of which were defending 2025 POY winners.

The APT continues to provide golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to compete across five divisions, with each event offering cash and VISA gift card payouts, along with optional cash skins, Mid-Am Net, and Senior Net competitions.

Division 1
Shrihan Kondagari of Lewis Center, Ohio rose to the top of a talented field, firing an impressive 1-over 72 to claim the title. Jonathan Feldkamp of Maineville, Ohio stayed within striking distance, finishing second at 2-over 74, while John Fryman of Westerville, Ohio rounded out the top 3 at 3-over 75.

Division 2
John Dicker of Lynchburg, Ohio battled his way to his first APT victory with a solid 4-over 76. Michael Marinangeli of Grove City, Ohio The Defending 2025 D2 POY secured second place at 6-over 78, and Kyle Lawrence of West Chester, Ohio finished third with a 7-over 79.

Division 3
Division 3 delivered one of the most exciting finishes of the day, going to a three-hole playoff. Ed Ruper of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio emerged victorious after outlasting Jeremy Roush of Coolville, Ohio in a hard-fought battle. Andy Patton of Lynchburg, Ohio was right in the mix, finishing just one shot back at 7-over 79.

Division 4
18 holes wasn’t enough in Division 4. A three-man playoff between Andrew Canlas of Westerville, OH, Kurt Schmidt of Delaware, OH, and Branden Turner of Heath, OH turned into a four-hole battle. After the opening hole, Turner posted a steady par, Canlas slipped back with a bogey, and Schmidt kept his hopes alive by draining a clutch 15-foot par putt. Three holes later, it was Branden Turner who puts out fires for a living, watered down Schmidt and sealed the deal, taking home the trophy and the prize money back to the firehouse.

Division 5
Nate Bigham made an immediate statement in his APT debut, capturing the Division 5 title and earning a well-deserved promotion to Division 4. Marshall Kiser of St. Albans, West Virginia finished second, with Aaron Holman of Newark, Ohio completing the top three.

Mid-Am Net
Branden Turner continued his strong day, adding a Mid-Am Net victory. Kurt Schmidt finished second, and Jeremy Roush took third.

Senior Net
Marshall Kiser claimed the top spot, Ed Ruper finished second, and Aaron Holman along with Ryan Darling of Pataskala, Ohio rounded out the leaders.

Congratulations to all of our winners and competitors for a fantastic event. A special thank you goes out to Rik Cramer and the entire Miami Valley Country Club staff for their outstanding hospitality and for providing a first-class tournament experience.

The momentum continues with another joint weekend ahead—April 12 at Country Club of the North, followed by April 13 at the nationally ranked NCR South Course.
