Everyone wants truth. Here’s one truth that people can’t seem to understand. And that is.
No one dies for a lie.

Whether in the peaks or down low in The valleys the name Christ Jesus will always praised.

Hard to believe this was nearly 20 years ago.
SLP Black Iron Gym Open, 2006 — I pulled 700 lbs at 242, took Best Deadlifter, and left everything I had on that platform.

I wasn’t chasing fame or records — just wanted to be strong, push myself, and maybe earn a little respect under the bar. That meet was special. The people, the energy, the love for lifting — it reminded me why I started.

Some lifts stay with you longer than others. This was one of them.

I had the honor of getting to work some with OSU legend Sammy Sasso.
First anyone that doesn’t know Sammy’s back story is a 2 x state champion. 4 time all American . 2 x National finalist. 2 x Big ten champion. Over 50 dual match wins. Over 100 D1 college career wins. A very legendary Resume
In August of 2023 Sammy was tragically shot and left to die. Sammy was rushed to ER and had numerous surgeries to save his life . Sammy got shot in the side which shattered his L5 vertebrae. Drs didn’t think Sammy would ever walk again. Much less wrestle again.
But Anyone that has met Sammy knows that Sammy isn’t built like that. Sammy is built different. A rare breed and tough as they come.
Sammy had one big goal of wrestling D1 again. Impossible for anyone. Sammy never once doubted a comeback.
Sammy not only came back but winning at the highest level in the nation. Sammy has proven that if you put your heart and mind into something, you can prove the impossible , POSSIBLE!
Sammy is already a Legend. He didn’t have to comeback and prove anything. He already has proven his talents. To be able to comeback and win against some of the best wrestlers in the nation is mind boggling!
