We’ve all heard the Golden Rule: “Treat others as you want to be treated.” But in life, the Reverse Golden Rule might be even more powerful:
🔥 “Treat yourself the way you treat others.” 🔥
Think about how often you encourage a classmate, lift up friends, and offer support when they struggle. Now, imagine if you gave yourself that same grace, patience, and motivation.
💡 Next time you face a challenge, ask yourself:
✅ Would I speak to my best friend this way?
✅ Would I tell a friend to give up, or would I remind them of their strengths?
✅ Am I showing myself the same respect I show others?
Success starts in the mind. Flip the rule, and watch your confidence and resilience grow. 💪

Listening to a GREAT podcast by Oprah and Harvard researcher, Dr. Brooks on their book, “Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier.”
There are sooo many good nuggets in here, but this part stuck out to me right away! How many times have you found yourself stuck in a downward spiral of scrolliosis? Then, 1 hour later you’re frustrated that you wasted your time reading about someone else’s life or experiences that don’t bring true meaning and happiness to your own!
Remember that social media isn’t a bad thing, but bingeing will make you lonelier. Setup boundaries with your friend groups - no phones when you’re together, or put your phone “to bed” at 9pm every night and plug it in a room that’s not by your bed!
These are a few strategies that I try to help my GT clients with, in hopes that it creates less comparison and more connection in their lives; ultimately leading to an ounce of feeling happier.

The end of 1st semester is upon us, along with the stress of exams and the pressure to perform well!
Continue to be the strong, confident young woman that you are called to be, but remember WHO you are doing all of this for and WHY! YOU have to be the one happy with your best - not your mom, dad, teachers or guardians.
And as always…
That one exam, project or letter grade will not determine where you will go and who you are becoming! 💪🏼🧠♥️

Not so long ago, researchers believed that our brains were hard-wired, fixed by the time we became adults. However, in the past 20 years, this research has been proven wrong! It's not until our mid-20s that our brains are fully developed AND our brains have the ability to continuing learning and growing throughout our entire lives.
What if we start building mental wellness awareness when we are young? What if students could practice mental fitness tools that would build a strong foundation at an early age? At Girl Thriving, that is what we have set out to do. Our mission is to help young women (especially athletes), build self-awareness, create emotional agility, and learn to build a brain that will help them become the best version of themselves for the game of life!
Our upcoming mental fitness training group will focus primarily on understanding the neuroscience that is impacting your performance; physically, mentally and emotionally. We will teach you why and how to incorporate and practice different mental fitness tools to help you reach your full potential on-and-off the field. Registration is NOW OPEN at www.girlthriving.com or the link above ⬆️⬆️⬆️!

You bring more than your physical equipment to practice everyday. Your mental “baggage” is impacting who shows up at every practice and game. You, your teammates and even coaches may be dealing with:
• Family issues
• Pressure to meet everyone's expectations
• Poor nutrition
• Social pressures
• Lack of sleep
• The fight you had with your sibling
• Fear of making a mistake in practice or the game
• Conflict with friends, coaches, teammates
• College decisions
• School stress
• Fear of losing
This list could go on-and-on! Your mental equipment is often overlooked by players, coaches and parents, but may have the greatest impact on your performance. Awareness of what’s impacting you on a daily basis is the first step in knowing which tools you need to best equip you mentally as an athlete.
Join us this Fall for a 6-week mental fitness training group for high school female athletes. We will meet weekly to build your personal goals, practice visualization techniques, and experience personal development activities that will build your emotional intelligence, growth mindset, and mental fitness toolbox. Message us for more details and sign-up for our newsletter to receive early access to registration. SPACE IS LIMITED!

Life and Personal Development Coaching can prevent mental illness and increase overall mental wellness. Studies have shown that coaching can have a significant effect on performance/skills, well-being, coping, attitude, self-regulation, and reaching goals. We’ve seen this first-hand with the students we’ve worked with!
At Girl Thriving, everything we do is based on neuroscience research. We incorporate positive psychology and applied behavioral neuroscience to build new learning and put new behaviors into action (ultimately, becoming a Girl Thriving)!
We focus heavily on using tools that help young women gain a greater sense of self-awareness, while gaining social emotional skills & habits to build confidence within themselves and the world around them.

We have an exciting week ahead!
Today we are putting our finishing touches on our 4-hour, professional development workshop for the faculty and staff at the Beaumont School for girls in Cleveland, OH ()
Girl Thriving + Love Well Community are partnering to provide more insight into the latest research on the teenage brain, the external factors impacting our teens today, and provide tools & habits for teachers to create the internal connection our teens need in the classroom.
We are hearing more and more that teachers are feeling burnt out and not equipped to support their students’ social emotional needs in the classroom.
WE GET IT!! There are constant expectations for our students and teachers that fuel the overwhelm.
Our goal is for all students and teachers to feel heard, understood, nurtured, and celebrated!
LET’S DO THIS, BEAUMONT! 💪🏼🧠🤍🙌🏼

Thank you for this reminder today, James Clear!
Our daily habits shape who we are becoming, for better or worse.
Ask yourself these questions:
• Are there habits in your life you should be unlearning?
• When is the last time you stopped to reflect on your daily thoughts, feelings and actions? Are these aligning with who you want to be?
• How are you exposing yourself to new and different people who challenge you, make you more self-aware, and grow?
All of these things take time and being intentional. Save this post for when you are ready to take the time for you 😉🙌🏼

Have you ever thought any of these things?
* If I get perfect grades, I’ll get into a good college!
* Once I get a boyfriend, I’ll be happier.
* If I get into the college of my dreams, I’ll be set for life.
* If I am friends with ________, I’ll be happier.
This list could go on-and-on! Have you ever stopped to think about how this type of constant expectation and achieving only gives you a small burst of happiness once accomplished.
True happiness lies in the journey! Our happiness is both nature and nurture, but research supports that it lies more heavily on the nurture end of things!
So, how can you nurture true happiness? What if it’s not always striving for more, but slowing down to pay attention while you are on the journey.
This is where JOURNEY MINDSET comes in! I finished a great episode of the Happiness Lab podcast by Dr. Lori Santos today. She emphasized the importance of the little ways you can nurture yourself - sleep, nutrition, exercise, stepping out of the pressure cooker of constantly having to be better or achieve more, and knowing that you are loved, supported and ENOUGH JUST AS YOU ARE!
Want to practice journey mindset yourself? Reach out to us! We’d love to help you do this as a daily practice.
