Sometimes growth isn’t about learning something new.
Sometimes it’s about unlearning what was never true in the first place.

A lot of women were taught to earn love through self-abandonment.
That’s why saying no can feel so uncomfortable.
Pay attention to how your body feels in certain situations.
Pay attention to the “yes” that leaves you feeling heavy, drained, resentful, or disconnected from yourself.
Familiar doesn’t always mean aligned. Sometimes it just means you’ve learned to stay.
Breathe.

A lot of people think they’re doing the work.
And I’m not here to judge that I’ve been that person too.
But there’s a difference between knowing about healing and actually healing.
You can name your attachment style. You can cite your nervous system responses. You can recommend the book, attend the retreat, and say all the right things in the right rooms.
And still abandon yourself when conflict rises. Still shrink when your voice is needed. Still perform “fine” while something inside you is running on empty.
That’s not healed. That’s informed.
The pattern doesn’t care how much you know about it. It only loosens when you stop studying it and start sitting with it. Not fixing. Not reframing. Sitting.
That’s when something real begins to shift. That’s when you stop performing healing and start living it.
The goal was never fluency in the language. The goal is coming home to yourself.
That’s the work. 💜
You know that pause right before you speak where something in you edits before the words even come out?
That’s not hesitation. That’s a pattern. One that started a long time ago in rooms where being fully yourself cost you something.
So you adjusted. You softened. You became easier to receive. And it worked. People liked you. Included you. Trusted you.
But they never actually met you. They met the version you decided was safe to bring into the room.
And over time you don’t just edit what you say. You start questioning what you feel.
This isn’t a confidence issue. It’s a learned pattern. And patterns begin to shift when you start to see them clearly.
The next time you feel that pause don’t rush past it. Ask yourself: what am I about to soften? And why?
That awareness is where everything begins to shift.
Your voice was never the problem. 💜
Save this if you’ve been showing up everywhere but not fully in any of it.
