Finally! Weather was almost 60 today, so we took advantage and headed for an outdoor session!! We’re excited to do more of these as the weather warms up!!
We did our normal 10 shot warm up drill at about 10-12 feet. You need one mag with 5 rounds in gun, and extra mag with at least 5 rounds. Starting from Concealment on all but support hand stage. All shots to body as quickly as possible.
From concealment: 3 shots
From concealment: 2 reload 1
From concealment: 2 shots strong hand only
Switch to support hand only, from low ready: 2 shot

It’s a quick warm up that helps us hit a reload as well as single hands in only 10 rounds.

Issues I had today was shooting single hand with support hand, I apparently pull trigger a bit higher than the shield X trigger allows to actually move the two part trigger 🤦🏻‍♀️ so had to make an adjustment on the fly.

After that, we start doing 2 shots to the body, 1 to head moving back 10 feet every 2x. From 30 ft, we did 3 to the face 2x then at 40 we went parrot, face, parrot (these are circles to each side of head)

We then practiced 3 to each parrots.

I finished off working reloads, starting with 1 in gun and one in magazine and an extra full magazine. On timer- shoot 2, reload shoot 2. I did at about 21 feet until I ran out of ammo, roughly 10 times. Working in my draw to presentation & reloads, keeping gun up in work space- dropping magazine and getting new one in as soon as I could. I’m realizing that my slide locking back was hit and miss. I’m pretty sure it’s my grip interfering, as these are brand new magazines. So spent extra time, re-racking slide to load reload in. Overall successful range day. I had 80 rounds total with me today and it was about perfect! 🎉🎉

My practice run of the didn’t go well. I know that it’s because haven’t been doing dry fire as religiously as I should. Last week of Bullseye went well though, specially with optics. Irons are still a work in progress though!

done! Drew the 8 today which means 5 shots at 8 yds in 8 sec. Which I was able to do, but dropped 1 in my two attempts. Then hit this weeks bullseye. I’m actually ahead in the optics division this time, by a hair!! 🎉🎉

This weeks followed by this weeks bullseye targets. This week went a lot better for bullseye. The card challenge, still a work in progress, getting used to new carry and needing to sight in optic 🤦🏻‍♀️
