Coach Maceyko Helping people realign, rise, and win the next possession. Faith. Resilience. Hope. I’m Tim Maceyko, The Hope Coach — speaker, author, and resilience mentor.

After surviving personal tragedy, including the loss of my child and a life-changing injury, I chose not to stay broken. Instead, I turned my pain into purpose — and now I help others do the same. Through Rise Up with Tim Maceyko, I guide people facing grief, setbacks, and adversity to find new hope, healing, and strength. Whether through motivational talks, books, podcasts, or music, I’m here to remind you: where you are today is not where you have to stay. It’s time to rise up — because it’s time to win.

A new episode of The Coach Maceyko Show is now available on my website, on Spotify, Apple, and most other podcast platforms.

It's been a few weeks since my last episode, and for good reason. As many of you know, my wife, Trish, recently underwent major cancer surgery. Thankfully, she came through it well, and we're incredibly grateful for everyone who has prayed for us, reached out, and supported our family along the way.

Sitting in the hospital last week, I couldn't help but notice something. Doctors. Nurses. Therapists. Food service workers. Housekeeping staff. Family. Friends.

Some were right there in front of us. Others were working quietly behind the scenes. It reminded me that none of us is meant to travel life's toughest seasons alone. That became the inspiration for this month's episode:

The Strongest People Ask for Help

In this episode, you'll hear a fascinating Bet You Didn't Know segment about the true inspiration behind a classic movie franchise. A Game Plan discussion about redefining what real strength looks like.

In the Training Room, we look at three practical drills you can put into practice this week. And during the Ask the Coach segment, I'll be answering a question I think many of us have wrestled with: How do I know when it's time to ask for help instead of just pushing through?

If this episode encourages you, I'd love for you to share it with someone who might need it today. And if you're enjoying the show, leaving a review helps more people discover it.

Because you've lost enough...It's time to win.

When I give my speeches, I talk about life’s scoreboard - the one everyone sees. Money, followers, fame, the house, the car. But there’s a second scoreboard. One that can complete you in ways the other one can’t.

I find myself valuing the second scoreboard more and more each day.

This feels appropriate for this week. Keep swinging.

Yesterday brought some much needed good news on our cancer journey. My wife’s surgery was deemed successful.

In April the outlook was one where the cancer was winning. It was a scenario where there may only be months left - unless Trish responded well to treatments. And today, things have changed. She is the one winning.

Now, we are not naive. We know this isn’t the end of the journey. We’ll be waiting on the pathology results, meeting with her oncology team, and taking the next steps in treatment and recovery. But today was a huge milestone, and one we’re incredibly grateful for.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, encouraged us, sent cards, meals, messages, and simply walked alongside our family. We have felt your love every step of the way.

Right now, the focus is on helping Trish recover one day at a time. The surgery took a huge toll, but she is getting excellent care as I write this. And this doesn’t mean she’s cured, but it does mean her odds of getting more meaningful years just increased dramatically. We will take it.

Please continue prayers for healing, strength, and wisdom as we await the pathology results and continue this journey.

Today, though, we’re choosing gratitude. ❤️

I’ve been quietly working on something that’s become very personal to me. And now it’s time to start sharing it.

Many of you know parts of my family’s story. My broken neck and paralysis - and my time in the wheelchair. The loss of our son Seth. My daughter’s battle with cancer. My wife’s battle with cancer. All the years coaching.

What you do not know is that I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my next book, The Realignment Game Plan, which I’m planning to release later this year.

This is more than another book. It’s an entire plan on how to find your gold after life breaks you. I’ve also created a keynote presentation that I’ll now be giving.

Realignment is a message about what happens when life knocks us out of balance…and how we can rebuild with purpose, become stronger through adversity, and find our way forward.

Realignment is designed as an experience, not just a speech. And I hope it changes the way people think about the storms in their own lives.

Over the next several months, I’m looking for a handful of founding audiences as I begin sharing Realignment throughout Ohio.

If you know a pastor, coach, school administrator, Rotary or Kiwanis leader, chamber director, nonprofit leader, or anyone who plans meetings and events, I’d truly appreciate an introduction—or if you’d simply share this post with them.

This is my way of introducing Realignment to the community and, hopefully, encouraging people who may be walking through storms of their own.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our family over the years. Your encouragement has helped make this next chapter possible.

Starting this fall, it’s time for me to step onto the stage and give back by sharing Realignment.

Because I’ve lost enough. And you’ve lost enough. Now…it’s time to win.

To all the fathers today:

Most people will never know the weight you carry. They’ll see you mowing the yard, coaching the game, fixing the sink, paying the bills, driving to work, showing up.

They won’t see the sleepless nights wondering if you’re doing enough. They won’t see the fear when your child is hurting. They won’t see the sacrifices you make so someone else has a better life.

They won’t see the tears you keep to yourself because you believe you have to stay strong. But being a dad isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up.

Again. And again.

Even when you’re exhausted. Even when life knocks you out of alignment. Even when your own heart is breaking.

The greatest fathers aren’t the ones who never struggle. They’re the ones who keep walking through the storm because someone is following their footsteps.

So today, if you’re a father…thank you. For being one of the most difficult and most rewarding things you can be.

The world needs more men who choose responsibility over excuses, presence over perfection, and love over comfort.

Happy Father’s Day!

And if today is hard because you’ve lost your father, your child, or the relationship you hoped to have, I see you too. You are not forgotten either.

Yesterday, I was driving my 4-year-old granddaughter home. She had on her sunglasses, striking poses in the back seat like she owned the world.

She looked at me and asked, “How do I look?”

I smiled and said, “You’re the prettiest girl in the world.”

Without missing a beat, she replied…

“No! Mimi is!”

I glanced over and saw my wife’s smile.

For months, chemo has taken so much from her. Her strength. Her energy. Her hair. And with that comes the quiet struggle of not feeling like yourself anymore. The days she feels well enough to spend time with our grandkids are victories in themselves.

And in that one innocent moment, our granddaughter gave her something medicine couldn’t. She reminded her that she is still beautiful.

Children don’t measure beauty the way adults do. They don’t care about hair, wrinkles, scars, titles, or appearances. They see love. They see kindness. They see the people who make them feel safe.

Somewhere along the way, we forget how to see the world like that. But kids are different. Their hearts haven’t been taught to judge yet. And that is special.

I talk a lot about Realignment, but that concept isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about changing how you see yourself after life changes you. How you see the world.

Oh, and I’d have to agree…

Mimi is the prettiest girl in the world.

You don’t have to be ready. You just have to be willing. Take the swing. Make the call. Start the project. Walk into the room. Try again.

The people who change their lives aren’t always the most talented person on the field. They’re the ones who step in anyway.

It’s your turn. Swing away.

I planted this willow tree years ago as little more than a stick. The deer nearly destroyed it. Later, the top broke off. More than once it looked finished. But every time, it came back.

That’s why I love this tree. Sitting this evening in the front yard admiring how far that stick has come. It reminds me that setbacks don’t get the final say. Life may break you. It may force you to live differently than planned.

But broken doesn’t mean finished. This tree found a way to realign. To keep growing.

Your turn.

We don’t ignore a car that’s pulling to the left or right. We get it realigned before it causes more wear, more damage, and a bigger repair bill. Life works the same way.

When our priorities, attitude, faith, health, or relationships drift out of alignment, we often try to push through and hope things improve on their own.

They usually don’t.

Take the timeout. Own where you are. Make the adjustment.

Realignment today can prevent a breakdown tomorrow.
