Successful adolescence do what unsuccessful adolescence aren’t willing to do: WORK. Don’t ever wish it to be easier, only focus on making yourself BETTER.

READING BOOKS Helps Strengthen your Mental Health 📚📖📕📔📚
Recent studies show that people who enjoy reading novels are more easily able to empathize with others, a sign of a strong and well-rounded mindedness. If you want to work on increasing your mental strength, read a variety of things that you enjoy. Like eating right and exercising to maintain physical health, reading strengthens the muscles in your brain and can help you wind down after a long, stressful day, and it can even improve skills like memory and focus over time.
* According to a study done by the University of Sussex, reading can reduce stress levels by 68 percent. Stress levels and heart rates were monitored while trying out a variety of relaxing methods, such as listening to music, going for a walk, and having a cup of tea — but reading was the strongest method in helping the brain and body relax.
* The University of Buffalo studied this idea and found that the stories we read, the characters we relate with and learn with, helps us understand different ways of life. Empathy is even argued to be one of the most important skills for parents to teach children so that they can grow to understand the world and the people around them in a healthy, positive way.
* Reading exercises and enhances the memory muscles in your brain. This happens because reading forces us to be alert, pay attention, remember small details, and follow along a string of words for hours at a time. So get your reading workout on! Improve those memory skills!
* A study found that people who were actively mentally engaged, whether it be reading or another type of mental engagement, had a 32 percent lower rate of mental decline, compared to people who weren't actively engaging their brain and declined 48 percent faster.

The take away...grab a physical book, open the book & start developing the old school way of reading a book. Bright screens keep your brain more awake, so revert to a good old fashion handheld BOOK 📖 & strengthen your mind, daily.

BE COACHABLE: Allowing yourself to get coached is not a sign of inabilities. It is instead an indication of your confidence & your competitiveness. It is a demonstration of your humility and shows how deeply you care about performing at your fullest potential. An additional, knowledgeable perspective added to your own can help you raise your game in any area of your life.
Quote by Coach Bill Moore
Thank you for coaching, mentoring, and allowing my daughter to learn & love the game of basketball. As a mother, and as a coach, I learned the secret in parenting is to find coaches who I want to learn from, teach my daughter. Coaching is not easy. Parenting is also not easy. However, given the opportunity to parent or coach my daughter, I choose parenting and teaching her how to be the athlete and allowing her coach, to coach her. I learned this tip from my dad, my coach, who has 43 years of coaching under his belt. Coach-ability is the hardest lesson to learn and it is instilled in the HOME, by parents. It takes a village to raise a child, choose wisely as a parent ... but realize as a parent, who coaches, their is always something to learn even when your not coaching.

I am so proud of you Ava for the hard work, discipline, confidence and drive you bring when you step foot on the court! Out of all the pictures I received of you playing, these two pictures mean more to me as your mother, than you can imagine. The trust, appreciation, and opportunities basketball will provide you with, stems from your continued RESPECT to being coached and always RESPECTING the game. Keep putting in the work, it will definitely pay off ✨
