Meet Anna, our member spotlight!
I joined The Human Form at the end of 2023 after a season of losses and change. During that time, moments of quiet felt loud with sadness. Committing to my health felt like choosing something positive during a time that felt really heavy.
Outside the gym, I’ve been married for 10 years and have two dogs who keep life fun. I care deeply about animal welfare, and I support the ASPCA as part of that. I also love hands-on projects, strategy games, and a good crime documentary.
Adding fitness to my life alongside all of that has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. When I started, I could barely hold a plank or lift more than the lightest weights. Now I’m doing movements I never imagined I could and feeling stronger physically and mentally.
For me, exercise isn’t only about appearance; it’s about building a body that allows you to do the most with the life you have.
What truly sets The Human Form apart is the people. The trainers, owners, and everyone I train alongside are incredibly warm, encouraging, and genuinely caring. I always feel supported, celebrated, and motivated to keep going.
The confidence, independence, and friendships I’ve gained here have changed me — and while I still race the clock and slide in as class has started, I rarely miss a workout and always leave glad I showed up!

There really couldn’t have been a better team outing for a bunch of animal lovers than We won’t comment on how much yoga was actually done… but a fun time was had by all.

Meet our Member Spotlight, Bob P! 🏌️♂️
"In February 2022 I sought out Lauren Miller, PT to help me rehab from a year-old, sports related knee injury. Human Form was new to me, although I grew up in Grandview. I liked what I saw – a holistic approach, a well-equipped, organized and clean facility and a giant Buddha image emblazoned with “Breathe.” It seemed like a special place, not just a gym.
I soon started training with Lauren, who continued to do her PT magic on not only my knee but both arms since I had also developed bilateral neuropathy and couldn’t raise my arms. After a couple of months, I began improving a lot. Thanks to Lauren, my arms are 99% free of any neuropathy symptoms. I continued to train with Lauren two times per week.
Michelle and Stephen as well and Jade and Jeff have created a terrific community yet focused on personalized coaching. Watching them train others, I was impressed. I learned from them and Lauren about the importance of proper breathing to successful physical exercise and conditioning. Michelle also provided some great nutrition coaching. Human Form is a special place.
Lauren and I do a lot of weight training, exercises for balance and for increased stamina. Most importantly, we don’t do burpees! I feel strong again. My golf game is better, travelling is easier, my flower garden looks great, and snow skiing fast is still too tempting to stop. I feel strong again, which is great as I just turned 80. I can live my life fully.
I am very grateful to Lauren and everyone at Human Form for helping me get to where I am and where I want to go. We are all facing down the future which is coming fast.
Mind, body and spirit. Breathe. I always feel better when I finish training. Always."

Meet our Member Spotlights, Jeff and Caroline Haskett 🤗
"Jeff is a true Buckeye; I grew up a Georgia peach. We met as consultants in Florida, then married in 1999 on Amelia Island. Over the years, we have built businesses and raised kids together (2/3 fully launched!), but had never really exercised together – until now, at The Human Form.
Jeff has always been the athlete – marathons, biking across Ohio. Me? Not so much. For decades, I largely ignored strength and fitness. By my early 50s, I was losing muscle fast and feeling fragile. A bone density scan confirmed it was time to act – for my health and to keep up with Jeff in the years ahead.
Home workouts quickly led to injury. Jeff offered to help, but I wanted to chart my own path. That’s when I stumbled across The Human Form. One testimonial on their homepage spoke to me immediately. Still, gyms had never been my thing, so I hesitated. But Michelle’s warm welcome, expertise, and encouragement gave me just the push I needed.
After a few months of building confidence, I invited Jeff to join me – thinking that if we can tackle work and family together, we can tackle the gym together too. Two years later, we can’t imagine life without it. The Human Form has become essential to our health and fitness. The coaches challenge us, inspire us, and help us make every rep count. The members are fun and genuinely uplifting. I feel stronger and more balanced (hello, core!). And Jeff? He’s still biking across Ohio – now leading the pack with his Human Form-powered quads."

Meet our Member Spotlight, Laura Stewart! 😊
"Fitness Rooted in Care, Community, and Connection.
I joined The Human Form in September 2024, and it quickly became a pivotal part of my wellness journey. As someone who’s been active throughout life, I’ve always valued movement—but the structured workouts at The Human Form offered something I hadn’t realized I was missing: expert guidance without the pressure of planning it all myself. My sister-in-law, who knew both Michelle and Stephen Ladd, recommended the program, and once I met Michelle, her warmth and professionalism made me eager to dive in. I couldn’t wait to attend the classes and finally feel supported in a way that matched both my goals and my lifestyle.
Before joining, I was navigating the dual challenges of a demanding career as a hospital pharmacy manager and the physical shifts brought on by menopause. Despite my efforts, I faced stubborn metabolic changes and weight gain that left me exhausted, frustrated, and discouraged. My self-esteem took a hit, and I felt like I was constantly falling short despite my discipline. The Human Form has helped me reclaim my energy and confidence. It’s not just a workout—it’s a space where I feel seen, capable, and reconnected to the strength I’ve always had."

Meet our Member Spotlight, Veda!
"I've been a member since December 2021. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I studied anthropology at Pitt and zoology at OSU. I started running in the ’70s, but in my 30s, I decided that wasn’t enough—so I began doing workout videos at home. That wasn’t something I found easy to stick with, so I joined a local gym and attended for many years.
That’s where I first discovered yoga—because it was free! Meanwhile, I got downsized at OSU, held several part-time jobs, but kept up with my workouts and eventually decided to become a yoga instructor. Then, COVID hit. I kept up with my personal yoga practice and taught classes via Zoom, but gym attendance fell by the wayside.
In my heart, I knew I needed to get back to weight training. One of my yoga students used to attend my classes wearing a Human Form T-shirt. She raved about the place, the equipment, the location, the schedule, and especially the semi-personal training with excellent coaches. So, I joined.
It immediately felt like the place I was meant to be. Everyone—from the owners and coaches to the other members—is supportive and helpful. They all have a great sense of humor, which is so appreciated when you're trying to improve and need lots of encouragement.
My right shoulder is damaged and weak, but all the coaches work with it and give me plenty of options for stretching, toning, and building strength. I've gotten stronger since attending, met great people, and found it easy to stick with workouts because every class is different.
If you’re someone who wants to start working out in a gym setting, I highly recommend The Human Form. The price is reasonable, the class schedule is flexible, and the coaches are simply the best."
