Successful State Meet!

With 4 TW boys and 5 WK girls, both teams finished in the top-10. Worthington’s first double top-10 finish in 25 years! Not only did every swimmer we bring to states get a second swim, every swimmer made it back to an A-Final, earning every Worthington swimmer a state medal this weekend!!! With so many more individual and team moments to remember, we ended the season on a high note!

The Seniors’ First Splash!!!

Last night we officially opened Worthington Aquatics’ newest chapter by letting the Senior Class of ‘26 take the first splash in the new natatorium!

We shared some history of the original natatorium, poured water from the old pool into the new one, and the night was highlighted by our guest speaker Marilu Pflieger.

Marilu is a:
-1978 Worthington graduate
-One of Worthington’s first collegiate swimmers (OSU)
-3x Team State Champion- 1976, 1977, 1978 (4x unofficially in 1975)
-Individual State Champion 100 Freestyle
-Relay State Champion 200 Medley Relay

The original natatorium was home to:
-26 Team Conference Championships
-177 Individual and Relay District Champions
-12 Team District Championships
-31 Individual and Relay State Champions
-16 Team State Championships
-719 All-Ohio selections
-151 All-American selections

We are excited to build on our history in the new natatorium!!!

Come take one last dip in our beloved natatorium!!! Even if you don’t plan on getting in the water we would love for you to come by the old pool one last time before we move into our new space!

Our last high school swim team to have a season in the current natatorium is leaving the pool behind on a high note in its final chapter!

As we head off to States tomorrow, we had one last high school swim practice in our pool!

This pool has been home to thousands of athletes, it’s seen many successes, been at the center of countless relationships, and connected us all!

50+ years, now time for the next chapter!
