The May Columbus Plus-Score chess tournament was held Saturday May 3, 2025 in Grove City, Ohio. The G/45 d5 tournament drew 17 players competing in 4 rounds of USCF rated chess in 2 sections. A total of 6 players won a cash prize. Prizes are based on the number of games won. Prizes are paid when a player completes their last game. No waiting for the section to finish. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 presents the Columbus Plus-Score, a one day 4 Round Swiss chess tournament. Each player has 60 minutes with a 5 second delay to complete each game. The tournament has 3 sections Premier (1600+), Reserve (U1600) and Discovery (U1200). Prizes are based on points. The playing site is less than 10 minutes southwest from downtown Columbus and close to many restaurants. Boards and sets provided, bring clocks. Please know how to set your clock and how to adjust time on the clock. Handicap Accessible. Open to all players with or without a US Chess rating.

Congratulations to the prize winners at the October Columbus Plus-Score.

The Columbus Plus-Score tournament was held Saturday October 5, 2024, in Grove City, OH. Participants played four rounds of USCF rated chess G/60;d5. Prizes are based on points. Once you finish your last game, you get your prize. No waiting. No prize splitting.

Stanley Qiu [1799] with 4.0 points took home $200.00. The big winner. Mehmet Yilanli [1696] with 3.0 points won $50 and Alex Zimakov [1372] with 2.5 points took home $25.

Saturday 09/14/24, in Grove City, OH. The tournament attracted 24 players competing in two sections over a $500 prize fund.

Congratulations to the winners.

In the Premier section, the big winner was David Friedman, with a perfect 3/3. Pranav Jayaganesh took second place with 2.5/3, and a four-way tie for third place Robert Chenault, Siddarth Kunapuli, Aarya Sivakumar, and Om Chatterjee all with 2/3.

In the Reserve section, the big winner was Umut Bilgi, with a perfect 3/3. It was Hunter Hong, Michael Bauml, Ayoosh Jha, and Shashank Palla in a four-way tie for second place with 2/3. Atharv Singh 1.5/3 won the Top U1200 prize.
