Alika Wilburn's Strong Eye Leads West Lowndes Varsity Panthers Past Columbus Varsity Lady Falcons

Alika Wilburn showed a strong eye at the plate on Friday, as Wilburn walked three times while leading West Lowndes Varsity Panthers to an 18-3 victory over Columbus Varsity Lady Falcons.

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers won thanks in part to 16 runs in the first inning. Lauren Williams drew a walk, scoring one run, Carmen Hairston drew a walk, scoring one run, Wilburn drew a walk, scoring one run, Addison Tate drew a walk, scoring one run, Angel Precesely was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Madison Jackson drew a walk, scoring one run, Williams singled, scoring one run, Hairston was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Wilburn drew a walk, scoring one run, Tate singled, scoring one run, and Precesely drew a walk, scoring one run.

Columbus Varsity Lady Falcons got on the board in the top of the first inning after Cheyanne Conner-Mckinstry stole home, and Darquayla Lucious tripled to left field, each scoring one run.

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers added two runs in the third. Tate singled up the middle, making the score 17-3.

Hairston stepped in the circle first for West Lowndes Varsity Panthers. The starter gave up seven hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Ariana Irions stepped in the circle first for Columbus Varsity Lady Falcons. The hurler allowed four hits and 18 runs (17 earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking 13.

Tate, West Lowndes Varsity Panthers's number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Williams led West Lowndes Varsity Panthers with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Wilburn paced West Lowndes Varsity Panthers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 13 walks for the game. Fourth-Inning Burst Enough To Lead Starkville Christian Varsity Cougars Past West Lowndes Varsity Panthers
Starkville Christian Varsity Cougars defeated West Lowndes Varsity Panthers 13-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning.

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers got on the board in the first inning after Madison Kidd hit a solo inside the park home run.

Kidd led West Lowndes Varsity Panthers with one run batted in. The leadoff hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Lauren Williams and Kidd each collected one hit for West Lowndes Varsity Panthers.

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers will travel to Smithville Varsity Lady Noles 2026 for their next game on Thursday.

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers Can't Quite Erase 8-Run Deficit In Loss To Starkville Christian Varsity Cougars

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers's effort to come back from down eight runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 9-7 to Starkville Christian Varsity Cougars on Monday. West Lowndes Varsity Panthers closed the gap by scoring on a triple, a ground out, a single, and a double.

West Lowndes Varsity Panthers lost despite out-hitting Starkville Christian Varsity Cougars 13 to 10. Madison Jackson and Madison Kidd each collected three hits for West Lowndes Varsity Panthers.

A steal of home by Kidd put West Lowndes Varsity Panthers on the board in the top of the first.
