Not much to say about tonight, ran 2nd in the heat race and the car was good in feature is about it! Grayson was in the car before sprint car b mains started and I was just checking everything over one last time and as im thinking the sprint b is still racing because I never heard anyone call our class to line up, I hear the a main after us called over the speaker. I told Grayson to get going! He pulled on the track as the field was going through corners 1&2 but since we didnt come out in our spot we got sent to the back. Grayson was pi**ed so he floored it hard enough to break his pedal extention off 😂. He pulled in because I always said if that happens I don't want you to hit the brake and it pins the throttle, came in I looked it over and sent him back out and he got up to 4th. Restart with 3 to go they sent him to the back being a lap down and that's when we got involved in the accordion start and wrecked our bumper. To put the cherry on top someone hit us under caution thinking we brake checked the start 🫩. Overall to take off work early on a Wednesday was a horrible idea!

Unloaded in albion tonight for some midweek racing! We are excited to be a support class for the Stan Cisar Speedweek tonight. Races start at 8 and looks to be a full house of cars.

DNF tonight. Car got hot running top 4 under caution with 1 lap to go and went into limp mode, so Grayson pulled it in. Was fun to be back on a slick track for the feature that created good racing throughout the field.

Tonight was one of those nights we will cicle really big in the notebook and make a notation that it either kills our season or cures it. He drove like the 14 year old he is in a beginners class
Heat race we usually suck especially first race out, but car felt under him he said and advanced from 5th or 6th (I missed the start) to 2nd. Advancing 4 or 5 positions out of 7 cars. Feature rolled out he started 5th with a lot of fast cars ahead of him. Jumped the initial start so 2nd try car launched good again with forward bite but by corner 1 he pushed up and doored another car. Bad enough start but he drove it in the same way in corner 3 and half spun it out into the infield! He pulled up on the track and wanted a caution but must have remembered his dad would be pi**ed if he causes a caution and he caused it himself, so he took off again 3/4 lap behind.
We will learn from tonight and move forward. I sent him to staging right when intermission started and didn't realize they planned on putting just a light sprinkle of water across the track during intermission, but everyone raced on it, some just not so far over their heads!

Huge thank you to Gaver Tire Pros & Auto Center for taking the pickup and trailer to the track for me tonight and getting him set for the heat race. Confidence is worth 30 hp, and after winning the last 2 weeks and feeling good in the heat race we had about 150 hp on the field I think, just need to learn how to control it.

Was another heck of a battle but pulled off the win in Columbus tonight! Hunter Betzen was on our rear quarter the entire race it felt like but Grayson never flinched and drove his race to the win.
