Interviews aren't for rehashing the resume; they're for uncovering communication and leadership skills. Resumes cover hard skills. The hard skills you should have reviewed before you even came TO the interview. Use interview time to understand who a candidate is, their personality, and where they might need training (and are they a relatively tolerable person!!. Don't waste precious time discussing past education.

We often assume people have conflict resolution skills they simply don't possess. Blame playdates for adults over-involving in kid disputes. Gen Alpha, for example, has never experienced an in-person breakup. They lack the emotional pain from real-time goodbyes and snot bubbles. This means they, and many others, missed out on crucial conflict resolution practice.

Yesterday I got to speak to the Forensic Lab Directors and Managers of the State of Illinois Police!
Literally the last woman i spoke to was a DNA specialist. Eeeekkkk!!!The nerd in me + my recent addiction to murder podcasts had me majorly fan-girling over these every day heroes like Amanda Shanbaum and her team!!

My parents and grandparents were both in education so anyone who keeps K-12 education thriving is AWESOME in MY book and School Business Officers do that so so well!!
