Northland Wrestling

Northland wrestlers finished the season 6th at the City League Tournament with 86 points and 8 placers. Seniors Sheba Beaufort (106) and Demetrius Terry (220) both capped off fine seasons placing 6th at the Sectional Tournament at Marysville. This season showed marked improvement up and down the lineup despite many new faces. It was a fun season with momentum that will hopefully carry over into next year (our 50th!).

First home dual of the season is tonight at 6pm. Come cheer on the Vikings as we take on Dublin Coffman (B) and Marion Franklin!

Friends & Family, it's been a while since my last update, and many things have happened during that time. Sadly, Check Deyo - our legendary coach and mentor to hundreds of Vikings - lost his battle with cancer. Please remember his family in your prayers. Despite this sad news, the Mat Fund continues to grow and we have raised $1,425 in donations - so we are at 20% of our goal of $7k.

I am so grateful to each of you who have donated or sent encouraging words our direction. Please remember the Deyo family in your prayers. What an incredible friend, mentor, teacher, coach and Viking he was. He was such a joy to be around, and he will be missed - by a great many people. It has been inspiring to see just how many people he has positively impacted over the course of his life. What a legacy! This world needs more men and women like Chuck.

Northland Wrestling kicks off summer campaign We are seeking to reunite teammates, friends and fans of Northland Wrestling by posting pictures from each of our previous 48 teams. Our hope is that we will gather 500 page likes in the process and generate renewed interest in current and future teams. Let's do this Vikings!

The varsity repeated as City League Champs, and the reserve team also their third consecutive City League title. The Vikings also had three state qualifiers: Mike Janszen, Chris Marinelli & Billy Weaver.
