As a mental health coach, I've learned that many people seek intimacy first, when in reality intimacy is the result of several other things being built well. Adding these blocks is done over time in a relationship.
Healthy relationships aren't built on chemistry alone. They are built on a foundation of honesty, which creates safety. Safety allows trust to grow. Trust makes vulnerability possible. And vulnerability is what ultimately creates deep intimacy.
When one of these layers is weak, relationships can begin to feel disconnected, guarded, or unstable. When these layers are strong, people feel seen, accepted, and emotionally secure.
Whether you're working on a marriage, friendship, family relationship, or your relationship with yourself, it can be helpful to ask:
🔹 Am I being honest?
🔹 Do I feel emotionally safe?
🔹 Is trust being built through consistency?
🔹 Am I allowing myself to be vulnerable?
Intimacy isn't something we force. It's something we build—one layer at a time.
Stay tuned for more clarity on each of these building blocks.
If you need support in building these in your relationships, reach out! It would be my joy to walk with you on this journey - whether it is to build intimacy in a new relationship or in one where intimacy has been broken and you want to re-build.

As a mental health coach, I've seen how many men were taught from a young age to be strong, tough, and self-reliant—but not always how to recognize, express, or process their emotions.
When boys are encouraged to feel, talk openly, and receive love without conditions, they grow into men who are better equipped to navigate life's challenges, build healthy relationships, and care for their mental well-being.
Teaching boys that vulnerability is not weakness is one of the greatest gifts we can give the next generation. Let them feel. Model honesty. Love them out loud!
The conversations we have with boys today help shape the men they become tomorrow.

NOW ENROLLING: THE HEALING JOURNEY COLLECTIVE
A Faith-Based Small Group Coaching Experience for Emotional Healing, Personal Growth, and Spiritual Renewal
🕊Intentionally Limited to 10 Women to Foster Meaningful Connection and Growth
For years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside women as they navigate anxiety, grief, shame, burnout, relationship and childhood wounds, life transitions, loss, and the emotional burdens they have carried for far too long.
One thing I have learned is this:
Many women are surviving, but very few are experiencing the peace, freedom, and emotional wholeness they long for.
That is why I am excited to open enrollment for The Healing Journey Collective—a 29-week guided healing experience designed to help women grow emotionally, spiritually, and mentally in a supportive community.
Together we will intentionally pursue healing through biblical truth, emotional wellness coaching, personal reflection, and meaningful connection with other women on a similar journey.
We will explore:
🌿 Emotional healing
🌿 Renewing the mind
🌿 Grace, forgiveness, and freedom
🌿 Identity and self-worth
🌿 Nervous system regulation
🌿 Healthy relationships and boundaries
🌿 Deepening our relationship with God
If you have been longing for peace, clarity, healing, and hope, this may be the next step in your journey.
🕊Because this experience is designed to be personal and interactive, enrollment is intentionally limited to 10 women.

As a mental health coach, I've seen firsthand how many men carry tremendous weight while believing they have to handle it on their own.
The truth is that mental wellness isn't about being tougher—it's about becoming more aware, more connected, and more honest about what you're experiencing.
This Men's Mental Health Month, I encourage every man to ask himself:
How am I really doing?
What am I carrying that I haven't talked about?
What support do I need right now?
Healing begins with honest conversations.

Peace & Love & Cure! If you are living with EDS, as your Mental Health Coach, I want to encourage you to continue to seek healing for your body and for your emotional and mental wellness! 💜🦓
Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome can impact more than the body—it can deeply affect mental and emotional health as well.
Chronic pain, nervous system dysregulation, exhaustion, and feeling misunderstood can create anxiety, grief, and burnout over time.
Mental health support matters.
Learning to regulate the nervous system, practicing self-compassion, processing medical trauma, and honoring your body with patience instead of shame are important parts of healing.
Your healing journey may not look linear, simple, or quick—but that does not mean progress is not happening.
There is strength in continuing to seek answers.
There is courage in continuing to care for your body.
There is hope in continuing to believe that improvement, support, and healing are possible.
Healing does not always mean the absence of symptoms. Remember, sometimes healing looks like learning to regulate the nervous system, honoring your limits with compassion, finding supportive providers, and creating a life that holds both struggle and joy.
Keep advocating for yourself.
Keep listening to your body.
Keep choosing hope, even on the hard days.
Your experience is real, your resilience is powerful, and your life still holds purpose and possibility.🩵
If you are needing support as you navigate this journey, it would be my joy to walk with you!💜🦓

“There’s no shame in beginning again, for you get a chance to build bigger and better than before.”
Relapse is not proof that healing is impossible. It's often part of the process of growth, awareness, and rebuilding. With the right perspective, it's an opportunity to learn!
Shame says, “I failed.”
Healing says, “I’m learning.”
What matters most is not perfection — it’s the willingness to get back up, reconnect with your values, and continue becoming the person you want to be.
Your setback does not erase your progress. Grace, growth, and healing are still available to you. Shift your perspective and continue to move toward your goal! We all need someone to support our journey. Please reach out if you need support, encouragement and guidance.

What is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)? 💜🦓
EDS is a group of inherited connective tissue disorders that affect the body’s collagen — the protein that helps provide strength and structure to the skin, joints, blood vessels, and organs.
Because connective tissue exists throughout the entire body, EDS can affect many systems, not just joints.
Common features can include:
Joint hypermobility (“double-jointedness”)
Frequent joint pain, instability, or dislocations
Stretchy or fragile skin
Chronic pain and fatigue
Easy bruising
Gastrointestinal issues
Nervous system dysregulation (dizziness, fainting, POTS symptoms)
Headaches and migraines
Many individuals with EDS also experience secondary challenges such as:
anxiety or nervous system hyper-vigilance
medical trauma from years of misdiagnosis
grief related to physical limitations
chronic exhaustion and burnout
EDS exists on a spectrum, meaning symptoms and severity can vary greatly from person to person.
Because EDS is often an “invisible illness,” many people live for years without proper diagnosis or support.

May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Awareness Month 🦓. Why the Zebra?
The zebra has become the symbol for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other rare diseases because of a well-known medical saying:
“When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.”
In medicine, this phrase teaches doctors to first consider common conditions before rare ones. But for people with EDS, this became deeply meaningful because many patients were the “zebra” — experiencing symptoms that didn’t fit common explanations and often going years without being believed or properly diagnosed.
The zebra symbol represents:
Being medically overlooked or misunderstood
Rare or complex conditions
The uniqueness of each EDS patient’s experience
Strength and resilience despite invisibility
It also reflects an important reality of EDS:
Even though EDS is considered uncommon, people living with it are real — and deserving of recognition, validation, and care.
Today, zebras are widely used in:
EDS awareness campaigns
chronic illness advocacy
support groups
awareness merchandise and ribbons
The symbol has become a source of identity and community for many people living with EDS. 💜🦓💜
