Cookeout Ice Climbing Festival Welcome to the Cooke City Cookeout Ice Climbing Festival, the first ice fest of the year!

This gathering is meant to be a small collection of ice climbing enthusiasts psyched to kick off their winter climbing season.

Timing for the Cookeout couldn’t have been better. We snuck the festival in right during the first big cold front and right before Cooke City gets buried in snow for the winter. Huge thanks to everyone that came out to support the festival!

Cookeout Ice Festival update. Things have been super warm but the forecast looks incredible from here on out. We have lots of water running so the ice should form quickly. If you want super fat ice we are not going to have that but we will have some ice to climb. We are psyched to kick off the winter climbing season. Bundle up because it’s gonna be cold!
