Each year, April is designated as the Month of the Military Child. First recognized in 1986 by then Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger, Month of the Military Child is a time to honor and acknowledge military children for their personal sacrifices in support of the military mission. As military communities across the United States and overseas continue to practice social distancing in the fight against COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to honor our nation’s 1.6 million military children for their continued sacrifices.
CNIC CYP is excited to launch a Virtual Month of the Military Child social media campaign! Throughout the month of April, please join the celebration by promoting the Virtual Month of the Military Child on social media by using the hashtag . All CYPs are encouraged to use the Virtual Month of the Military Child artwork to promote the virtual celebration through your personal and Command sponsored social media platforms. Please follow Navy CYP on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as CNIC CYP will post daily celebrations. Please also consider sharing CNIC CYP’s posts on your personal and Command sponsored social media platforms. Additionally, we encourage all CYPs to create additional celebrations while using the hashtag . If we are successful and work together, our hashtag () will result in thousands of virtual celebrations across the world!
We hope you’ll join us in this partnership as we celebrate our military-connected children during the Month of the Military Child.
