πŸ“’ 2026–2027 THSBA RULES ARE NOW AVAILABLE

The official 2026–2027 THSBA Rules have been posted on the THSBA website!

Very few changes were made from last season, but it is important that all anglers and boat captains read and understand the rules before the season begins.

When setting up your season profile and signing the Release of Liability, each angler and boat captain agrees that they have read, understand, and will follow the THSBA Rules.

🟨 WHAT CHANGED?
Anything highlighted in the Rules PDF identifies a change or update from last season that you should review.

🎣 KEY UPDATES FOR 2026–2027

1️⃣ Tournament Entry Fee: $85
Tournament entry fees are now $85, a $10 increase per angler. Anglers will see that additional funding returned through increased scholarships offered at our Championship events.

2️⃣ Regional Championship Qualification: Top 45%
The top 45% of AOY teams in each division will now advance to their Regional Championship. This is a 5% increase from last season.

There is no change to the percentage advancing from Regionals to the State Championship.

3️⃣ All 5 Regular Season Events Count Toward AOY
The previous β€œdrop your lowest tournament” format has been removed.

For 2026–2027, Angler of the Year standings will be calculated using all 5 regular season events.

⚠️ KNOW THE RULES

These are only a few of the key updates. Every angler and boat captain is responsible for knowing and following the complete THSBA Rules.

Before you hit the water this season, read the rules, review the highlighted changes, and know them!

Ready for another great season? Here are some of the key things every team should know before fishing a THSBA Regular Season event.

πŸ“ Registration
β€’ Register online or through the THSBA App.
β€’ Standard registration closes 11:59 PM on the Sunday (6 days) before each tournament.
β€’ Late registration is accepted until 11:59 PM on Thursday (2 days) before the event.
β€’ All late registrations are subject to a $20 per team late fee.

πŸ’΅ Entry Fee
β€’ $85 per team (cash or check).
β€’ Maximum of two student anglers per team.
β€’ Solo angler teams are permitted and pay the same $85 entry fee.

🚫 Important Policies
β€’ No rollovers. If your team registers but does not compete, the entry fee is forfeited.
β€’ Tournament buy-ins are not permitted. Teams cannot receive Angler of the Year points without competing.
β€’ Teams that change, add, or remove a partner will be declared a new team, and all Angler of the Year points earned will remain with that new team.

🚀 Off-Limits
β€’ Competitors must be off the tournament lake by 6:00 PM on the Friday before tournament day.

πŸ† Angler of the Year Points
β€’ 1st Place: 500 points
β€’ 2nd Place: 499 points
β€’ 3rd Place: 498 points
β€’ Each finishing position thereafter decreases by one point.

πŸ“‹ Participation Points
β€’ Teams that do not weigh fish but properly return their wristbands will receive 25 points fewer than the last team that weighs in a fish.

πŸ“– Know the Rules
β€’ These are just a few of the Regular Season rules. Every angler and captain is responsible for knowing and following the complete THSBA Rules.
β€’ By signing the Release of Liability through the THSBA App, all anglers, captains, parents, and guardians acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to follow all THSBA Rules and policies.

πŸ“… Looking Ahead
The 2026-2027 THSBA Rules will be posted before registration opens on August 1. We encourage all anglers, captains, and parents to review the updated rulebook before registering and competing this season.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the water for another great THSBA season! 🎣

Help Support the CHS Bass Fishing Team! 🎣

The CHS Bass Fishing Team is gearing up for another exciting season, and we’re looking for businesses and individuals who would like to become sponsors!

Last year was our first year bringing the team back to Corsicana High School, and our anglers had an incredible season. We had 4 teams qualify for the Regional Championship and 2 teams advance to the THSBA State Championship. We couldn’t be more proud of what these students accomplished in just one year!

As we prepare for the upcoming season, we’re asking our community to help us continue building this program. Sponsorships help cover tournament entry fees, jerseys, equipment, travel expenses, and other team needs, making it possible for more students to compete and represent CHS.

Whether you’re a local business or an individual who believes in supporting our youth, your contribution will make a difference. Every sponsorship, big or small, helps our anglers succeed both on and off the water.

If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor or would like more information, please send us a message. Thank you for investing in our students and helping the CHS Bass Fishing Team continue to grow!
