Seven years ago I camo’d up a 1980’s Richline. I was happy to have it but it wasn’t an ideal river boat. It was long but it was narrow and shallow too. It would throw waves in my face on the rough days and take small amounts of water over the bow. I could see a person getting into trouble fast if they didn’t know what they were doing in that boat.

Now I have a 2000 Voyager. What a difference between that old boat and the one I have! This one always sits above the waves, throws the spray from them out to the sides where it barely ever sprinkles me and never takes water over the bow. It makes my job of navigating so much easier. A novice could do well in this boat.

Sometimes you don’t know “how less than ideal” a thing is when you’re in it. Sometimes you can only see how dangerous the thing was when you’re finally out of it. That’s what happened to me when I stepped out of the world and into Christ. You really don’t know what you’re missing, you can’t really know how close to disaster you are. Becoming a master at piloting a vessel that isn’t made for the conditions you’re navigating just keeps you in line for the worst failure, one your expertise can’t help you avoid and one that you can’t recover from.

Here's bait that I have used for years back in the day my stepfather would send me down to Conneaut Creek with a handful of curly tail grubs and say to me,go test these and then come back and tell me what you think of them....this is one of those bait he handed me... don't let the color fool you, slow rolled on the bottom,this bait is deadly on big salmon and steelhead especially in slow moving water near the Trestle and both sides of the Arches....as far as I know,AAFC Bait Company is the only one making them in 1.75" and 2.75" . I won't lie to you , running these very slowly on the bottom you will lose a few to snags and very big fish as I discovered while testing these as a boy. If you can find some in the 1" and 2 " sizes in the double tail,even better! Btw, purple in these using the same technique is my #2 go to color....jighead sizes I used were 1/16oz- 1/4 oz. Sizes that were available from Mr.Twister back then....tight lines and good hunting!

We added some new items today! For our crappie and pan fishing guys, we brought in offerings from AAFC Bait Co ...... First photo is their Crappie Box Assortment, next are their Paddle tails in a smaller offering of 2.8" which is a perch size for binge feeding Crappies,Panfish,and River Bass...available in White,Chartreuse, Monkey Milk,and Halloween( more colors will be added in the near future).we have 2 Crappie Box Asst. available for $39.99 per box. The 2.8" Paddle Tail are $5.50 each....these are not on our website yet,so if you're interested in any of these items feel free to message me. To our walleye guys we are still looking into more options so hang in there,the wait will be worth it.
