19 years ago, 2,977 people lost their lives in a cowardly act against our great country.

We honor those that were lost and the families affected.

We support and thank our first responders that continue to charge head first into danger.

We also want to thank those courageous pups that were there to to assist in the efforts.

Today, we remember. We remember true heroes!

We will never forget.

Meet Axl - the inspiration for the “tails!”

We adopted Axl from Guardian Angel Pet Rescue, Inc., an awesome, local pet rescue.

We got Axl when he was about 5 1/2 months old. He is about to turn 2 and we can’t imagine life without him!

We are truly blessed to have found such an incredible pup and we look forward to many more adventures with him!

Always remember to drink responsibly, leave the trail better than you found it and hug your pup often!

After you knock out Buck Gully Trail, be sure to swing by Bootlegger's Brewery in Costa Mesa!

Their El Chango is a light, Mexican-American style lager and a great way to cool off from the trail!

Founded in 2006, Bootlegger’s motto is “Drink fresh, drink local.” They have three locations in Costa Mesa, Fullerton and Redlands, CA and keep 30 different brews on tap year round!

After your hike, grab a chair and towel and hit the beach!

Their It’s 5 O’Clock Zoomwhere is a tasty mango IPA and a perfect pairing for some relaxation!

Always remember to drink responsibly, leave the trail better than you found it and hug your pup often!

Buck Gulley Trail | Newport Beach, CA
—————————————
4.4 miles out and back.

About 400 feet of elevation gain.
—————————————
Pretty easy hike! The trail is clearly marked and well maintained. There is plenty of shade throughout the trail. Not much to see - a few bridges that cross a small stream.

The trail also serves as a mountain bike path. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed on this one.

Welcome to Ales, Trails and Tails!

We are Ryan and Tamara Vollkommer. We created Ales, Trails and Tails to combine a few of our passions: breweries, hiking and camping, and dogs.

Our goal is to spotlight awesome local breweries, beautiful trails and get as many pups into their forever homes along the way!

Always remember to drink responsibly, leave the trail better than you found it and hug your pup often!
