Pitching coach that specializes in rotational pitching, internal rotation, & ground force resistance Welcome to my page!

I grew up watching my older sisters play softball and at a young age I developed a love for pitching. Starting in high school, I was able to combine my love of softball and my passion for teaching and began giving lessons to girls in my neighborhood. The past 10 years I have taken that passion to a new level and began offering pitching lessons consistently. As an instructor, I have a lifelong love

If you are taking private (or group) lessons, understand that hard work must be put in, and is expected to be put in, OUTSIDE of the weekly lesson.

You go to a lesson to learn what you need to work on. SOMETIMES you will fix things inside of a lesson, but more times than not, the things that need work will be fixed OUTSIDE of the lesson in your own practice time.

Make sure once you leave the lesson, you are aware of what those 2-3 key things are that you need to work on. That week at practice, focus on those things, and make the corrections so that when you show up at lesson the following week, you get to work on NEW things. It takes effort on your part and it helps you learn on your own how to fix things and how to work through problems rather than someone hovering over you and telling you exactly what to do.

It does no good to attend weekly lessons and be working on the exact same problem week in and week out. Go to lessons because you want to learn and get better. Don't go to lessons because you want a scheduled weekly practice time and someone to show you how to throw new pitches.

Learning and throwing new pitches should be EARNED with good mechanics and accuracy, not just expected because you show up every week.

Spring break is a great time to get some extra reps in before the season starts. I have some openings next week due to several of my pitchers traveling for spring break. Contact me if you are interested in scheduling a lesson!

Safe travels and good luck to my girls playing over the break! 💜 🥎

Being a pitcher is a lot of pressure and takes a lot of mental toughness! I always share with my girls how my sister was also a pitcher but at 10u her coach wouldn’t take her out so she walked off the field. She ended up playing Division 1 college softball but pitching just wasn’t her thing. As a coach, I try to help my girls build their confidence, prepare them for tough situations, and develop strategies to work through these high pressure situations.

I'd say highest number of participants who want to pitch are probably between the ages of 8-12.

At this age, the young girls are either trying it out or trying to fill a void on the team. They’re a little naïve, and it seems fun – to be the one who gets to hold the ball every play and be the one with the most physical action on the field.

If you are a young player, or young parent getting involved in the sport, the first thing you pay attention to is the physical attributes that make a pitcher and you give most of your attention to the mechanical positioning of the pitch.

What takes years to learn/experience and what you can’t see, is all that goes into being a pitcher internally.

The more you are around the sport and the older you get, the quicker you learn being a pitcher is not as glamorous as you once thought it was.

Eventually, either because of unwillingness to practice or lack of confidence, a high percentage get weeded out. I’m sure you’ve seen it – when you were younger you had 6-8 “pitchers” on your team, and then when you get older, you have 3-4 pitchers on your team.

Why does that happen? Because you learn that pitching isn’t just something you do, you learn that it’s a way of life and thought.

Most people don’t quit because of lack of physical attributes…but because of what it takes on the inside, and the commitment/drive it takes to continually grow.

Why Fastpitch Pitching is so Difficult 03/05/2023

Pitching is hard! There are so many moving parts that have to work together (almost perfectly) to throw a strike, not to mention the mental pressure!

Why Fastpitch Pitching is so Difficult Let me tell you why softball pitching is one of the hardest skills to master in all of sports! The motion, the mechanics, the dedication and the pressure all come together to make it a unique challenge.

I enjoy sharing my love and passion for the game of softball, especially pitching. Please reach out if you are interested in scheduling private lessons, group lessons, clinics, or camps!
