It's been a busy month, and no surprise I'm way behind on keeping you all updated on the Cuero golf scene. So here's a photo dump of the past few weeks.

Thanks to everyone who has continued to come out in the heat for our Thursday evening scrambles and congratulations to our winners from the past few weeks.

4th of July saw two flights battle it out in the Flophouse 6-Shooter. 1st Flight Champions were Johnny Spears, Dustin Ohrt, and Mason Bonner. 2nd Flight Champs were Paulino Martinez, Eddie Hardage, and Thomas Fox.

Big shoutout to all of our members and friends who went out to the Sonora Partnership and represented the Cuero golfing community, especially those of you who brought home some 🏆 and 💸.

Bonus recognition to friend of Cuero Muni, Corey Baker, for his Hole in 1 at the par 3 18th, during the Sonora Partnership!

Going back to our 5/26/22 9 and Dine Scramble, congrats to our )(-8) winners Steve Tate, Mason Bonner, Dave Esslinger, Jonathan Polasek, Gilbert Clark, & Lexy Boehl.

Memorial Day saw a big turnout as Cuero Municipal hosted a morning and afternoon scramble tourney. Congratulations to our Morning winners: Bradley Ley, Jon Eric Rodriguez, JD Smith, and Chris Kessler winning a three team playoff on the third hole of sudden death to claim the victory.

Our afternoon tournament saw the team of Ace “rodeo” Slone, Tom “three step” Lempa, Silver “three days out of the hospital” Fernandez, Frank “over analyzing” Fischer, and Kieth “Texas wedge” Corporon come out on top.

Finally, last Thursday's Fun After 5 Scramble winners shot (-8) and included: Hunter McEachern, Jeremy Wanjura, Butch Prause, Greg Freeman, Nolan Watson, and Jayden Nichols.

A big thank you to everyone who came out last Thursday, for a record turnout of 72 golfers for our RTG Fun After 5 Scramble! Congratulations to our -9 winners: Joe Pena, JoJo Knox, Keith Corporon, Warren Buchhorn, Jordan Boothe, and Danny Salazar!

Special shoutout to JoJo Knox for his chip in Eagle on hole 9 to help his team to victory. Closest to the Pin winners were Mark Harvey and Corbin Goebel.

Reminder that this is the last week of the month, so it's our 9 and Dine week. Please sign up by Wednesday evening for this weeks Thursday scramble, so we can get a head count for food. See you all Thursday!

Congrats to the the April Nine & Dine Winners last week. The team of Hunter Mceachern, Ty Dromgoole, David Williford, Adam Arroyo, Terrance Taylor, & Shawn Strong. A Tyrone chip in on hole 3 from just off the green was the difference maker for them to get to the magic number of -8 under.

Second place consisted of two teams shooting -7 under. Bryan Weaver, Ricky Berens, Jason Lopez, Kenneth Newman, & Keith Corporon.

The team of Johnny Spears, Dustin Ohrt, Oscar Guerra, Joey Smith, Brandon Williams, & Susan Pause also shot -7.

59 golfers showed up on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Cuero Municipal for the weekly Fun After 5:00 scramble. The team of Omar Cordova, Pat Dworaczyk, Dusty Laqua, Mark “Boom Boom” Harvey and the NEW MONEY LEADER -> Cullen Doehrman had a solid round with a eagle 🦅 on hole 5 which led to them shooting -9 under.

Sorry to be a few days behind on updates, but what a weekend it was. Thanks to everyone for coming out and playing, supporting, and making our course and golfing community a better place.

The 2022 4th annual Jackpot Tournament is in the books. 20 teams, consisting of 5 players competed in a one-day 18 hole scramble format. One team separated themselves from the pack with shooting -19 under on the day. Led by A player Cory Baker, the champs had an eagle on hole 5 and hole 14 which helped propel them to the lowest score ever seen in this tournament. The second place team led by A player, Tyler Arndt had a few shots fall there way that was unexpected. A 40+ foot on hole 1 for birdie after being out more than 150 yards helped them keep their momentum and end up -15 under for the day and a solid second place finish.

A special thanks to Arthur Barrera, Terrence Taylor, and Isaiah Gamez who have the Cuero municipal golf course in some of the best shape it has ever been. Special attention to details and care have led to this place being very enjoyable to play.
