The guys have been hard at work in the shop this week preparing for the race we all look forward to every year! The RUSH Late Model Series invades Wi******er Speedway this Saturday! Kristopher Hutton is looking to make his first Rush Late Model Tour debut in the 11 running against some of the best crate racers on the East Coast! Come on out hot laps start at 6:00pm.

Car owner Ann Marie Beverlin has never been one to not finish what she started, whether it be throwing fast balls from the pitching mound winning state championships or owning a successful dirt late model team in memory of her late son.

After the surprising and sudden departure of Davin Kaiser from the drivers seat of the #11 Almost Home Motorsports Rocket before seasons end, Kristopher Hutton was chosen to finish out the regular season for us at Wi******er VA Speedway. Kristopher had a strong and consistent year finishing 4th in the points standings this year at Wi******er.

With Kristopher’s regular season car being a different chassis and set up style, this week was a good chance for him to get a feel for the Rocket. A bad pill draw had us starting 9th in the heat race with lots of ground to make up. Finishing 4th in the heat put up in a 7th place starting spot for the feature. Kristopher was able to keep his nose clean and get some laps under his belt and finished 7th on a very technical track. He did a great job and we are very pleased.

We honestly do not know yet what the future holds for Almost Home Motorsports, but we are praying about it and will move forward as the Lord leads.

The team traveled to Hagerstown Speedway last night, a bad pill draw didn’t start things out on a positive note. Started 7th in our heat and drove to 4th. The rest of the evening was canceled due to rain. We will post a video of the shortened night when it’s ready!

That monkey that’s been hanging onto our frame rail all year we think may have finally loosened his grip! 🙏🏻 Everything fell into place this weekend and we were able to pick up win #2 for the season! It was a special night at the speedway as we remembered Brent Hottle, a long time family friend of Almost Home Motorsports. We truly miss Brent and the laughter we often shared with him! Thank you to Wi******er VA Speedway for dedicating this night to Brent!

We are hoping to continue this momentum into the rest of the season!

We were able to turn some RPM’s! We just pray that it stays that way. Had a bad pill draw for the heat and missed the set up just a bit for the track conditions in the feature, ended up P3. We will go at it again this weekend.

If we are being honest, a bit of frustration is brewing in the Almost Home Motorsports camp. We have an intermittent power issue with the car, one week we are passing limiteds and the next the car hits an F flat coming off the corner and can’t turn rpm’s. We will keep marking things off the list until we find the issue…Not a bad finish in P2 for being down power this week, but we know we have a car that is capable of winning and we are unable to show it. On to the next one!

Unfortunately, Dog Hollow has not been good to the Almost Home Motorsports Team this year. Here is our make up feature from last weekend, our car found the electrical issue again just in time to get passed on the last lap, didn’t have the power to get by the lap car, had to settle for second. The second feature of the night we ended up just pulling in. It also meant we wouldn’t be able to go to Pittsburgh the next day for the RUSH tour race as we had planned.

We are hoping we have finally found the issue this week and can be back to being competitive the second have of the season!

Nail-biting Last Lap

Why do those dang crate cars run with the limiteds? Testing, trying different things, and getting BETTER. Started 7th last night on a nice smooth track that had some moisture and finished 2nd. Car was on point! Looking forward to Dog Hollow and Pittsburgh this weekend!
