Welcome to the Cypress Running Crew page! We promote running, wellness and community in Cypress Texas

This Saturday marks the first week the Coles Crossing swim team will be using the parking lot. Many of us will already be done with our weekly miles by the time the meet starts, but some parents and coaches may be showing up early for setup and weekly prep.

Please keep these home meets dates in mind, and after your run, be aware that there will be a bit more traffic, walkers and young athletes crossing the street.

Introducing Cypress Running Crew

Can't have news without "new"!

Thanks to your participation and feedback, our club is now officially operating as Cypress Running Crew. The new entity is registered with the State of Texas, has its EIN in place, and is positioned to move us forward with stronger structure and long-term stability.

We’ve also launched a new website:
👉 CypressRunning.com

The goal is simple — clearer communication, better organization, and a stronger foundation for growth.

None of this matters without the people who show up every week. Thank you to the pace leaders, volunteers, and members who continue to build this community mile by mile.

We’ll continue meeting Saturdays in Coles Crossing for long runs, along with additional community events and regular newsletters to keep everyone informed.

We’re just getting started.

With the winter weather forecast looking more unpredictable for the weekend, we will be postponing our community day run for one week.

There will still be a group run and many plan to meet as long as conditions are not dangerous.

Please remember to stay safe when considering your run this weekend given the weather conditions.

What a fantastic morning seeing y'all accomplish some amazing things! Be sure to share your photos here!

We are less than 3 weeks away from group runs! On August 9th, we're returning to Coles Crossing. With that exciting reminder, let's put our hands together to celebrate our volunteer pace group leaders:

Lucky 7s - Mark Coalmer, Brian Gray, Brian Haskett
Crazy 8s - Stephen Miller, Josh Ballew
Fine 9s - Amanda Kubeczka, Kris Hoffman
Perfect 10s - Jerry Brown, Ali Blossom
Heaven's 11s - Chanel Love, Ali Blossom
Terrific 12s - Steve Sutphen, Chanel Love
Wolfpack - Craig Pickett, Isaac Fox

As a reminder, these groups are named by pace just to make it easier to know where to fit in since it has been a while since we've all been together, but several groups will be running together and overlapping. Feel free to use this as an opportunity to meet others to follow your own training. If you're feeling like you want to challenge yourself, step up to the next pace group. Just had a big race? Take the opportunity to make new friends while you're in active recovery.

Last thing. We are still looking for pace group leaders for our Rock the Walk group. If you see yourself wanting to help take the lead on that, please message us directly. Thanks, y'all!

Hello CRCers!

I have an important update about our club. While the IRS is still reviewing our paperwork, we’re excited to share that we now have a clear path forward to restore normal operations and events!

With guidance from our accountant and attorney, we’re working through an administrative process to get CRC fully back on track. While we won’t have full swag this upcoming season, we’re planning to resume club runs and events starting this August!

To ensure we never run into this issue again, we’re implementing changes—like requiring a professional accountant in our bylaws—to keep our operations strong and secure for the future.

We appreciate your patience and support, and we can’t wait to see you out on the trails soon! Stay tuned for more updates, including a date for our comeback kickoff. Drop a comment if you’re in, and spread the word. See you out there!

Howdy CRC Runners

We are glad to see a lot of runners on the running paths preparing for upcoming races! Like we have always said, CRC has not gone anywhere. We see the CRC shirts at races and runs throughout the week. We appreciate the support!
An update on our taxes, we have filed 4 years of tax returns and are now waiting on 3 more years to be filed. We can expect during the holiday season for this to take a bit longer then usual, but we are seeing forward progress. We will update the club as we get more information.

Keep lacing up and pounding the pavement. You are motivating the people around you.
Happy Running!

CRC Family,
We are happy to see the majority of you all still running strong and training for upcoming races. CRC has not gone anywhere, we are still here.
We continue to work with the IRS through our CPA weekly to get status updates on our situation, however we do not have a timeline on when the issues with the IRS will be resolved. Once our tax status is updated, we can then contact RRCA about our insurance.
We will continue to take a pause on club related activities.
What does the mean? We plan to resume club activities once the issues are resolved. Obviously, the season will look different if we are able to restart in a few weeks/months. This includes a swag-less partial season, sponsorship involvement and the favorited Saturday group runs.
The entire board is eager to get things rolling again. We miss the events, the friendships created and laughter the club has created over the years.
We will update everyone monthly and remember, we aren’t going anywhere. We will come back, even stronger.
So go out there, lace your shoes up and keep running or walking.
