If your horse’s dental care is done without a speculum and/or adequate lighting, it is impossible to visualize their entire mouth or treat each arcade adequately. This hyper-erupted tooth was found during a dental in a new horse client with reported weight loss and bit issues. This growth would have taken several years to occur and was missed in prior services. The length of this tooth would have caused severe discomfort to the horse and impeded movement of the jaw.
Thank you Advanced Equine Dentistry for getting this team ready for NBHA Youth World!
5 stars, excellent care of my mare. thanks so much Advanced, you guys are GREAT!!
Thanks to Advanced Equine Dentistry my horses got much needed dental work.. They worked our schedule into theirs so our horses could be cared for. Thanks! Choctaw and Mama I'm sure will appreciate the outcome as now they should be able to chew their food properly. Both horses had sever dental issues and instead of being ignored were very professional cared for..Highly recommended
Cant' say enough good things. They came to our house did 7 horses teeth. Also treated a wound, cleaned sheaths, treated an irritated eye. Shots for our dogs. Everything went like clockwork and they had everything they needed in this awesome trailer. Highly recommend them and will certainly have them again. Plus I can shop right on their website pharmacy for any meds I need including heartworm. My perscriptions are right there and no need to contact anyone. Pretty cool.
Great experience with Advanced Equine. They came to us and did 7 horses and several dogs. Everything went like clockwork. They had everything they needed to do the extra things we asked them to do. Teeth, shots, doctor wound, clean sheaths etc. Would highly recommend them and would certainly have them again.
Chico, (the little Prince chihuahua), is now qualified to be a dental assistant or my horse, Avalon's protector, LOL. Your service and quality of work are unsurpassed. I have been a mounted sheriff's deputy (retired now) and the care of our horses has always been paramount to me. Great job gentlemen, you have my full endorsement.
Like to help your horse be rideable thru their 30's? Yes? Ever had a Sore, Cranky or Lame horse? Yes? Biting or pinning ears while being saddled? Yes? Reluctant to being caught? Or hard to bridle? We all have if you've been into horses for a long time. What creates this? Did you know your horse should be rideable into their 30's? Perform into their 20's! This is information like you have never seen before! Please watch and share about what is really going on inside your horse. AND what you can do about it. Every horse I've seen has 1st rib tweaked by 7 months of age. And this starts the high/low syndrome in front hooves. And most bodywork professionals do not know how to release it! This causes our training and behavioral issues as well as saddle fit issues. https://youtu.be/9hJ8xxqwHQY We are looking for barns wanting to host a 3 day clinic. https://youtu.be/CpXq04194Do

What’s the Deal with Wolf Teeth?

Whenever we check a new horse, especially a younger one, we look for the presence of wolf teeth. Wolf teeth are typically present just in front of the first cheek tooth, and can be present on both the top (more common) and the bottom jaw. They are numbered 105/205/305/405 and are present in around 70% of horses1. Wolf teeth are remnants from the original horse “Eohippus,” who was a browser and ate more twigs and branches in the forests millions of years ago. [ 491 more words ]

Choosing the Right Hay for Your Horse

After reading our article on Body Condition Scoring, you may be wondering if you are feeding your horse properly. Clients often ask us for nutritional advise based on what they have noticed with their horse. Sometimes, this is their first horse and they just feed what they were told by the old owner. Choosing the correct feeding regimen for your horse’s activity level, age, dentition, and other factors should begin with choosing the correct type of hay. [ 1,388 more word ]

Teaching the next generation of equine dentists!

Great day providing superior equine dental care and teaching the next generation of equine dentists!

Microchip technology is being used increasingly for horses and is a means of lifetime identification. Currently the USEF, USHJA, FEI, and Jockey Club require microchipping of any horses in their registries and most other registries are quickly following suit. Microchips are an easy way to both protect and identify your horse in the event of loss or theft and Advanced Equine Dentistry is happy to provide this service for our clients!

Hi Horse Owners!
We need some input from you. We have been considering holding “dental days” occasionally here at our office to allow clients to haul in and avoid trip charges as a way to reduce costs for some of you. In the past, lots of folks have asked about it, but before we plan, we’d like to know if there is actual interest. We think we would schedule in hour blocks to avoid long waits and have a place for horses to recover before heading back home. Maybe a Saturday? Anyone want or need this service?????
