*Former Cadets* Home ownership is within your reach and a much better deal than renting. I recently had the privilege of helping my first former cadet purchase a home. Who’s next? Feel free to call me.

Congratulations to our Cadet of the Month (COM) Kendall Bankston!
A board of Senior Cadet Leaders selected Kendall for her outstanding performance during our November monthly board. Cadets competing in the board were required to provide a resume and were evaluated on the wear and appearance of their uniform, Junior ROTC knowledge, and their confidence. Great job Cadet Private First Class Bankston!

For Veterans Day, our Battalion celebrated in two different events. On November 9th, our cadets participated in a parade through the Dahlonega Square alongside Riverside Military Academy. This parade was held to honor all the men and women who have served our great country. On November 11th, we held Lumpkin County's annual Veteran's Day Ceremony and had several of our cadets of the Battalion Staff speak on topics such as the ceremony itself, the bugle call Taps (this was played by one of the High School band members Alexandria Wallace,) etc. We had School Superintendent Sharon Head and High School Principle Brian Matthews give their remarks, as well as our guest speaker MAJ Graham Inman give his thoughts and thanks to the Veterans in the audience. Plaques were given to our guest speaker, the 2024 Patriotic Poster Contest Winner, and the Oldest Veteran in Attendance, and a complementary lunch was given to all the veterans after the Ceremony.

On October 29, our cadets helped to set up The Wall that Heals. This mobile memorial is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. dedicated to the men and women that served in the Vietnam War. The cadets that volunteered were tasked with unloading and erecting the metal frames that held the stone faces of the memorial. This opportunity to help the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and UNG was an honor to be a part of.
