For June our Skater of the Month is… 🥁🥁🥁 Shreddie Vedder!!! 🎸🤘🏻

Shreddie is a silent killer on the track. Her progress in skill over the years have put me in awe. She has such a kind spirit with a burning fire underneath. She is an amazing human and player. Im very proud to call her a friend and teammate.

She is the perfect mix of grit, heart, and funny chaos. I love having her next to me at practice and games because she makes me laugh until I can’t breathe. Derby would definitely not be the same without her. Every adventure is better with her beside me and I love how this derby community brought us together!

Shreddie gives it her all in everything she does from being a great mom to being the one of the best teammates! She always has our back playing many different positions on the track! I always feel like a stronger unit when she is in my wall! Thats my girl! 🖤💚🖤💚🖤

She is smooth and fierce. I rely on her to keep me mello and strong.

Shreddie is the BEST kind of teammate to have. On the track shes strong and reliable, off the track she is a great person and fun to be around!
Shreddie is always making me laugh on practice days as well as game days.

TXORD is here to celebrate the power of community, acceptance, and being unapologetically yourself.

Today, we're celebrating a skater who has helped shape the heart of TXORD. From leading skate school to helping countless skaters find their confidence on eight wheels, Crow has been a mentor, teacher, cheerleader, and friend to so many.
Whether she's teaching the basics, sharing her knowledge, offering encouragement, or simply showing up for her derby family, Crow does it all with kindness, patience, and a level of support that leaves a lasting impact on everyone she meets.
TXORD wouldn't be the same without the dedication, love, and wisdom you've poured into this league over the years.
We hope your birthday is as incredible as the legacy you've built and the community you've helped create.

Yesterday at the bout, we took a moment to honor one of our biggest fans, Bea "Gogo" Zipper, in the most TXORD way we know how — together, on wheels, as a community. ❤️🖤🤍
We held a moment of silence lap in her memory, circling the track as one, carrying her presence with us every turn. A designated empty chair was set rinkside with flowers and a handwritten note, a quiet space to reflect on the impact she had on so many of us both on and off the track.
There were tears, hugs, and a whole lot of love in that building — because that’s what she gave to everyone around her. She will be greatly missed in our Derby Community 💔
As was said during the bout:
“Today’s bout is dedicated to a woman who embodied what roller derby is all about — community, love, loyalty, and showing up loud for the people you care about. She was one of our most devoted fans, a familiar face in the crowd, and family to so many of us. Though her seat may be empty tonight, her spirit will always roll beside TXORD. This one’s for her.”

🏆💥 THE AVERAGE JOE’S PULLED OFF THE UPSET! 💥🏆

Against all odds, the Average Joe’s came out swinging, skating, and surviving to claim victory in yesterday’s mashup bout! From the first whistle to the final jam, every skater left their heart on the track and gave the crowd a game to remember. 🛼🔥

To everyone who packed the stands, cheered, screamed, volunteered, donated, and supported us — THANK YOU. This bout was everything roller derby should be: loud, chaotic, competitive, and full of community.

Today, we celebrate the women of Texoma Roller Derby who wear more than just a derby jersey.
They are mothers.
Caretakers.
Homework helpers.
Meal makers.
Bandage fixers.
Cheerleaders.
Taxi drivers.
Counselors.
Providers.
And somehow… still absolute powerhouses on eight wheels.
Behind every hard hit, every jam, every late-night practice, and every bout day is a mom balancing a thousand responsibilities before she even laces up her skates. These women show up exhausted, determined, loving, fierce, and unstoppable.
They teach strength not just on the track but at home every single day. Their children get to grow up watching what resilience, passion, sacrifice, and confidence truly look like.
To all the derby moms in our league — thank you for everything you do for your families, your teammates, and this community. You are proof that toughness and tenderness can exist in the same heartbeat.
Happy Mother’s Day to the moms who do it all… and still hit like a truck. 💐🛼
