Part of any black belt testing is sparring. It was great to see one of the older Block Master's black belt Jose Luis stepping in and helping out.

Today was a special day for Block Masters Self Defense Academy. The plan was for The Castillos to test for their black belts on May 7th, the day of our dad's birthday. As we all know that didn't happen. We are so proud for the perseverance, dedication, drive and ambition of these students to continue training as hard as it was for them, without our dad. But they did, and I know that our dad was looking down on his students with a smile and much pride. Congratulations to Johnathan, Mario and Kelly. Thank you Jose Luis De Labra for attending today's event and assisting with the testing. A special thanks to Mr. JJ Nava, for helping the students fine tune and polish what our father was already preparing them for. We would also like to thank Mr. Ralph Granado and Mr. Sergio Gutierrez for allowing this test to happen. We are looking forward to what Block Masters has in store for our future kids as we know that the legacy of Mr. Rodríguez will continue to live on.
