Texas Fury Basketball is joining the league! With the tag team duo of Brianna Steele and Dame Reid, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with! "The SBL gave me another reason to put our original Fury team together to compete after our season in the MBL ended a year ago. That didn't quite go as plan but it's always great to compete, to network, and to build new relationships," Mr. Reid said. "The game of basketball has been great to especially to my health mentally/physically. Besides who doesn't mind a little $$$ incentive." The Fury trying to bring home that cash this season! They have to get through with their first game February 5th in Argyle.

It's always nice when Kingdom Riders are in the league with us. They are a great organization and always professional! The Southern Basketball League is stacking the teams in the first season!

Kingdom Riders is our only team outside of Texas in our first season. The Louisiana Kingdom Riders was birthed in October 2012 under the leadership of BossLadii Drake . The team began playing as a semi-pro team in 2013 in the ABA. Coach Drake has overcome many obstacles as she determined to provide a way to consistently promote Louisiana based basketball talent. "I believe that the SBL will provide the means for me to consistently help players in Louisiana looking to play semi-pro basketball all while they learn the importance of them becoming and remaining a marketable player," Mrs. Drake said. "I believe in the vision of the SBL because of personal conversations throughout the years with the heads of SBL. I am glad to be a part of this journey with them as well as with the other SBL team owners." See them kick off the season February 5th in Argyle, TX!

The Arlington Net Rippers has been around since Dec 2020 with Briana Wade running team operations. They have been successful in multiple local leagues, and is now looking to up her game in the SBL. She was born and raised in Los Angeles,Ca. She decided to start coaching because she have a passion for the game so she wanted to teach the game that she loves the most. She is currently going to school for my masters in kinesiology and wanted to have the experience of coaching on her resume. "I believe the skillset I possess should bring value to the SBL organization," Ms. Wade said. "In return this should help me acquire a winning mentality and confidence to coach." As one of 3 female owners in the league, Briana doesn't mind getting out on the court to compete against the men. Look for Briana and the Netrippers to take the court Feb 5th in Argyle.
