Teams at Richland Chambers saw the calmer side of the lake on Sunday October 18, the final day of the Media Bass Team Championship held at Oak Cove Marina. Winds subsided substantially and there were a few bigger bass at the scales. The first day leaders of Brandon Mobley and Gavin Wragge maintained their lead and were the Champions with another big limit (both days without the help of FFS) on Sunday. Day 1 Results are in for the Media Bass Team Championship at Lake Richland Chambers, Texas. What started out as a very windy day began relaxing, just about weigh-in time, of course. But, regardless of the windy conditions the anglers were able to catch some nice bass and stringers.

After a one week break in the action (except for a hurricane), the 2026 Media Bass Championship Tour will resume. This week brings teams to Lake Richland Chambers, Texas for competition on October 17-18 at Oak Cove Marina. Cooling weather may actually be heating up the fishing. See here for more info

Here is some Toledo Bend history.

October 5, 1961
Apparently, someone had decided that the Sabine River wasn't a sufficient barrier between Louisiana and Texas, so Governor Jimmie Davis and Texas Governor Price Daniel posed for awkward photos at the groundbreaking of the Toledo Bend Dam today in 1961. The $60 million project had been in the planning stages for twelve years. Three years after the groundbreaking, construction of the dam, spillway, and power plant began in 1964. The closure section of the earthen embankment was begun in October 1966, and the power plant was completed in the early part of 1969. The Toledo Bend Project was constructed primarily for the purposes of water supply, hydroelectric power generation, and recreation. Toledo Bend is the nation's only public water and hydroelectric project undertaken without federal funding.

The Sam Rayburn Teams Championship final results are in and the leaders from Day 1 held on to capture the win. Haydan Marshall and Hut Reeves finished the two days with 50.30 lbs. and took home $10,000.00. Here are the Top 40 standings. The first day of the Media Bass Teams Championship at Sam Rayburn didn’t disappoint (or surprise) with the quality of fish brought to the scales. Not only were there plenty of solid limits but, there were many ‘quality size’ bass. Day two will be a new day on this large reservoir.

With the first two Individual tournaments completed, The Media Bass 2026 Championship Tour moves into the Team Championships. The first of four will be held at Sam Rayburn, Texas on October 3-4 at Jackson Hill Marina. Due to the lakes lowered water level “Trailering” will be in effect for safety reasons. The Media Bass 2026 Championship Tour makes the second stop at Lake Granbury, TX on September 26-27 for Individual Qualifiers. Also, youth contestants from this season may compete for the Little League Championship on Saturday. Anglers may finally see a welcomed change in the weather for this weekend.
