Hyper Flight Flyball Club

Hyper Flight is a small, highly-competitive flyball team. Most of our members are from northern Dallas, Texas.

Our goals are to run fast and win, while playing fair and having fun. We compete in United Flyball League International (U-FLI) events all over the United States, and we have hosted numerous tournaments in Texas, including the first and second annual U-FLI Championships.

Operating as usual

Hyper Flight had a great weekend in Bonham TX at the first annual OddStock flyball tournament hosted by OddBallz Flyball Club! Great tournament with fun prizes! We had lots of great things happening this weekend with our dogs. Our Div 2 team on Saturday, Pegasus with Celly, Rooster, Fang and Tsunami, ran two 14.8s with one dropped ball. So close to having two separate 14 second teams! Our Div 3 team Gemini ran five races Saturday and didn’t loose a single heat, winning the division undefeated! Snitch, Kai, Tesla and Rev made Gemini a solid team and ran a best time of 15.819! We also had our little black snake Cobra make her singles debut and she blew us away with all 3.6s and even a couple 3.5s line to line! Congrats John and Mary, big things are coming for the little snake! We also had Juno make her pairs debut and she passed like a rockstar! The best part of the weekend was having Kim back in the lanes with us! She proved playing flyball is just like riding a bike and stepped right back in the lanes and our hearts like she never left!

I always award Dog of the Day and Dog of the weekend for tournaments and this time Dog of the Day on Saturday goes to Fang for having his fastest tournament ever with a new pb line to line of 3.56 and making zero errors. Dog of the Day for Sunday goes to Tiki! Tiki had a enterotomy last month and had a rough go of it for a week but she has recovered and came back to race all day Sunday with zero mistakes and her usual enthusiasm and happiness to be out in the lanes! We love our TikiTok!

Dog of the Weekend goes to Cobra for her outstanding debut in singles. This little powerhouse has amazed us with her quick mind and fast feet and has been a joy to train, making it look so easy to train up a fast flyball dog! Mary and John both have done an amazing job with her and I am super excited for her future!

Thanks to everyone in our region for continuing to be the best region in flyball! Congrats to all the dogs that debuted, retired and just ran great on all our clubs!

Congratulations to Hyper Flight Flyball Club’s own Reveille who won a bottle of 1-TDC. Reveille is a longtime user of 1-TDC and says that it “works so well”!

Congratulations to Tillie from No Big Woof Flyball Club who won a bottle of 1-TDC in our raffle. Tillie’s birthday was yesterday and she got a puppy as a gift!

Meet the Vampire Bats!

These two brothers are from OutRun Performance Dogs breeding of our own Tera to Phoenix!

Bat is owned and loved by Amanda Keith and just made his team debut with a bang! He is a lanky goofy boy whose enthusiasm can be heard from anywhere in the flyball building! When not playing flyball Bat enjoys swimming, dabbling in agility and squirrel chasing.

Fang is owned and loved by Jenny Pike and switches back and forth between our two fastest teams. He is already a solid racing dog who can run in any position and is a dream to pass. When not playing flyball he can be found soaring through the air into the pool in dock diving where he has a personal best jump of 32’. He is a solidly build goofy boy who has more than earned his nickname of Dorkfish!

Meet the team! Starting out with our Juno team we have Tonks, Raven, Figment and Dibs.

Tonks is owned and loved by Jenny Pike. She is a border whippet from OutRun Performance Dogs breeding of our own Tera to Privilege. When not playing flyball Tonks enjoys disc, dock diving and agility.

Raven is owned and loved by Susan Bounds. She is a border whippet from Sure Shots breeding of Elle to Trumpet. Raven is a beast in the lanes, running many 3.4s in start or in a passing spot. Everyone on Hyper Flight knows to protect their faces from boops when Raven is around!

Figment is a border whippet from Painted Star Farms and is owned and loved by Veni Barber. He can run in any position and is a dream to pass! When he isn’t playing flyball he loves dock diving and disc and squirrel hunting in his backyard.

Dibs is owned and loved by Teresa York from Torment x Siren. He is a malinois in a whippet body and loves nothing more than his favorite tuggie! He is not the easiest dog to pass so he runs anchor and brings his whippet closing speed to our A team.

Hyper Flight had a great time cohosting the Second Annual Shamrock Shenanigans flyball tournament with our friends on BreakThrough Flyball and Top Dog Racers! Thanks to all the teams in our region for fun fast racing! This weekend Division 1 was on fire with four clubs running 14.5 or better! Don’t think you can find better racing anywhere but right here in North Texas! Congrats to Prime Time Flyball, BreakThrough and Top Dog on your new best times! Our Juno team posted a 14.554 with Raven, Tonks, Figment and Dibs. While not a club best time it’s the fastest these four dogs have run and we can’t wait to see what next month brings!

Over the next couple weeks we will introduce our team members and their dogs so stay tuned!

Hyper Flight had a great time at the Canine Winter Olympics this past weekend! Our A team, Juno, really came together and ran well with a best time of 14.7. We came so close to having a second set of four dogs run in the 14s with Pegasus running multiple 15.1-2s! Tsunami made his singles debut and rocked it! Preflight dogs did amazing things and we can’t wait for Celly to make her singles debut next month! Veteran bc Zetta ran for her new junior handler Ellie on Saturday and they were the perfect pair! Thanks Special Fources Flyball Club for hosting a great tournament with a great raffle! See everyone next month!

Hyper Flight was happy to be back in the lanes at this years U-Fli championships! We were definitely rusty but we had a lot of great things happen with our teams and young dogs! Congrats to all the winners of the Championships, especially our friends and training partners BreakThrough Flyball on their second place win in Division 1! Thanks to U-Fli and all the members of the championship’s committee for putting on a great tournament! See everyone in the lanes next year!

Our hearts go out to Aunt Sharon Atkinson and On the Flip Side

It’s with great sadness that we have to make this post. Today doing what he loved to do, Triage collapsed and was unable to be revived. Our hearts are broken into a million pieces for Sharon and Rob and the entire FlipSide Team.

We have to give a huge shoutout to all the veterinary professionals that ran in during our time of need. Nicole, Sue, Annie, Kelly, Emily and Dawn. We can’t thank you enough.

Hug your fur kids tonight. ❤️❤️❤️💔💔

Congratulations to Rumour - she earned her Top Flight Expert plaque today!

Sometimes we just need a little change in our lives! Introducing the new Hyper Flight logo! Keeping most of the feel of our old logo but just a little update to represent how the sport has changed! Just like in flyball, the speed of things has only gotten faster. In the past the fighter jet was one of the fastest man made vehicles but now we have rockets going 330,000 mph and reaching the atmosphere of the sun! It used to be that a border collie who could run under 4 seconds was considered the Fighter Jet of the game but now we have dogs rocketing to speeds under 3.4 seconds!

Congratulations to Hyper Flight Scud - undefeated all weekend at the UFLI South Celebration of Champions

Happy Birthday!

It's been a little over a year since we lost our beloved teammate and friend, Lee Brown. He left a hole in our team that cannot be filled and we miss him every day.
