🔴 This Memorial Day feels a little different for me.
Today, we honor and remember the brave veterans and service members who served and protected our freedom. Their sacrifice, courage, and commitment will never be forgotten.
At the same time, I’m also reflecting on someone who served her family with strength, sacrifice, resilience, and love every single day — my mother, Nadine Clark.
Today would have been her 67th birthday.
Twelve years ago, I launched iRock on her birthday in honor of her memory. At the time, I don’t think I fully realized how much of her spirit would become part of this business.
My mother was a strong single mom who raised three children in the Dearborn Homes on Chicago’s South Side. She constantly reminded us that our environment did not define our future. She believed we could become more, do more, and build more — and all three of her children did.
But more than anything, she was our biggest cheerleader.
She encouraged us before we believed in ourselves.
She pushed us to think bigger.
She reminded us not to settle.
Looking back now, I realize that same spirit became the foundation of how I support my clients today.
Cheering people on.
Helping them see their value.
Helping leaders recognize their strengths, reposition themselves, and pursue opportunities they once thought were out of reach.
That heart has been part of iRock from the very beginning.
As we celebrate 12 years, I’m grateful not only for the growth of the business, but for every client, leader, and professional who trusted me to be part of their journey.
This anniversary is more than a business milestone for me.
It’s a reminder of where I came from, who inspired me, and why this work still matters so deeply.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, mama. And thank you for believing first.
