PALM SUNDAY CELEBRATION
Sunday March 29th - 3:00-4:30 p.m.
All ages are welcome to this celebration of the triumphal entry of our Savior into Jerusalem. There will be food, fellowship and photo opportunities with the horses.

Sky has always done well following directions in hand and at liberty. Her communication skills amaze me. We have developed a strong partnership over the years. Due to physical limitations we have had to modify the way we play. At a competition several years ago the task was to trot 25 feet in a straight line. The judge apologized for having to deduct a point when Sky went off a straight line. She slowed from a trot and looked back to wait for me to catch up with her. I couldn’t keep up. I told the judge that I gave Sky extra points for that one. We developed a cue for Sky to go ahead of me and lost points for that at a different competition with a different judge. 😆
Now we’re working on a cue to send Sky in one direction and then another using one cue. We actually accomplished a simple version today. I traced the path she was to take in the air with my finger as I followed the path with my eyes. I had to offer the cue a couple of times before she understood but I was so pleased with how she focused on my instructions and let me know when she was ready to go. I haven’t been able to ride for a few years so playing on the obstacle course has become the way I spend time with my horses. I have learned to let Sky offer alternative ways to play. She showed me how she could rock the teeter-totter by standing in the middle sideways. She backed up to a large, hanging, Christmas ornament and flicked it with her tail.
Over the years she has given me insight into students to help me better understand them.
Sky is coming up on her 27th birthday in May. I don’t know how much time we have left together but I plan to enjoy what we have and make her life as happy and comfortable as I can.

Our annual Palm Sunday Celebration will be April 13th from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. We will share the joy of our Savior’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem with music, palm branches, demonstrations of faithfulness with our horses and refreshments. Everyone is welcome!
