We had the best time last weekend hosting another Melanie Smith Taylor and Alicia Landman clinic! We had some familiar faces sign up, as well as some new ones, even one who came in all the way from Scottsdale, Arizona! We are so grateful for the support from our community for this event. Melanie and Alicia are truly gems and we are so lucky they commit to coming to Oklahoma to share their knowledge with us.
We are discussing dates and making plans for 2026! If you have considered riding in this clinic but haven’t done it yet, we highly encourage you to do so! Both trainers will meet the horse and rider where they are in their journey and help them to clearly communicate both in and out of the saddle. We have lots of laughs and fun along the way. Looking forward to the next one!

Yesterday afternoon, as devastating wildfires sprung up near us, and the 50 mph winds threatened to move them onto our property, we made the decision to evacuate all the horses to safety.

Of course our boarders sprang to action, helping in whatever way they could, but I was also blown away by the graciousness of local horsewomen, some of whom I had never met, who drove across town and toward the fire to help get our horses out. Neighbors, who I had only waved to in passing and heard their names showed up with their families ready to do whatever was necessary not just for Emelie and I, but for all of our boarders and their horses they didn’t know.

Once we got our horses out, they had to go somewhere! Hallmark Farm and Loren McDougall graciously offered us stalls and pastures so everyone had a safe place to rest for the evening, and the horses settled in without stress for the night.

All in all, the best of the Oklahoma equestrian scene shown through, and we are so so grateful.

A new full course of jumps arrived today from Old Dominion Horse Jump Company! We can’t wait to get them set up!

Every day is a work in progress.

There is so much to do in the aftermath, any and all help is appreciated. As long as the gates are open, you are welcome to come out and help clean up debris.

We will have big work days this weekend, focusing not only on clearing the wreckage from the barns and homes, but also clearing limbs and debris from the cross country course in hopes that there may still be a chance the War Horse Schooling Horse Trial can move forward in April. Let's do this.

We are so sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Wofford. He was always so much fun to watch teach and absorb his knowledge and experience. At his last clinic at The Woodlands in 2014 he was kind enough to take the time to take a picture with Summer, the namesake of our farm, just for fun.

I haven’t kept up with social media in a bit, but am back to announce we now have an actual website! With so many improvements and things about to happen at the farm, I felt it was high time I got back into the social media game!
