This morning’s blessing …

It’s been a hard road getting this house done and we are nearly there. As I sit on the back patio enjoying a cup of coffee and reading my morning devotional, I see God’s blessings in front of me and there is peace for the moment.

Our western pastures create a small valley. The birds love to soar above it. A thing of beauty to watch.

One thing you don’t find in the city, or really even think about is saw mills. Getting boards cut at a local mill saved us some money and was fun. We will be taking the sycamore that had to cut down next week.

We are slowly getting settled in new shop. The sewing room is almost ready to have machines moved in, but until then I have a small sweat shop I am working out of..Yep no AC in there yet. It’s Texas and Summer , enough said.

Every day one of us says “Where is….fill in the blank.” The hunt for “fill in the blank” starts. And hopefully very soon a resounding “I found it!” Rings through the shop.

Today’s “fill in the blank” was serger thread for making the rod slips. John has headed into Texarkana so only the dog heard “I found it!!” Now the quest is…is it the right box I need?

Today's blessings...

The house is finally on the market and it feels like we are really close to being done with this adventure. I know we are ready to be done so that we can settle into our new home.

Our tile installation by Custom Tile by Clint Owen, our paint crew and the crew that took over the cabinet installation have been the best. Dependable and great at their craft. So nice to know that something is being done right the first time.

We are getting to know our way around the area and discovering new places and meeting new people all the time. Today I had the extreme pleasure of going to The Light House & Flooring Gallery to pick out backsplash tile. Xenia made the process fun and so enjoyable and the prices were better than any of the discount places we have gone to.

A wonderful two hour nap.

Walker has decided that he wants a morning walk also. He hasn't tried to join Merlin and Harper, but the last few mornings I have found him waiting by the start of my mowed path. When he sees me I get "happy paw" (play bows) and then he heads down the path. Hopefully we will someday have all three dogs walking together.

A wonderful dinner with my son and his beautiful family at Yoshi Shabu Shabu. What a fun evening!

It was so nice to enjoy time with my granddaughters. They are growing up so fast.

Back at the farm to supervise the paint at the house. My mother in law lovingly puts up with us and our dogs, moods, noise etc. as we try to get this thing done.
