Second Start Sport Horses

I am thrilled to welcome to the Second Start family Reynard Fox barn name “Eiza” after my Dutch grandfather. So far he’s proving to be easy and quiet and just as advertised. I’m excited to see where he goes. As a long term purchase I may be closing down this page since I will no longer be doing sales.

We are happy to announce My Son Adonis has been rehomed to a wonderful place out in East Texas. After suffering a few injuries it was in his best interest to have a low expectation home. I couldn’t be happier with his new living arrangement and he’s on the way to visiting friends in Tyler.

Today was a big day in the camp. Addie hasn’t been ridden in week (thanks time change) and proved to be a total star. Hard to believe this was the same horse I didn’t think would ever be sound. I’m cautiously optimistic but it sure is nice to have a sweet green horse to ride. And of course Chance is my usual rock solid rock star. (Who hates flat work but needed to work transitions and yields today anyway).

Courtney Thomas came out last night and gave my sweet Addie his first cold laser treatment. Now, I know what you’re thinking, this is pretty crunchy granola. But it totally works! She checked his sore spots and treated accordingly. He went from head shy and anxious to half asleep and licking me like a dog before it was over! He feels so much better and I’m looking forward to working him this week! Thanks Aunt Courtney!
