It took many years to get to this point. Many games watched and agonized over. My love for baseball started being at my grandparents home. The sound of TBS broadcasters calling the Braves games. Soon as you hit the threshold you could hear the sounds of summer. All the door and windows open. A feeling that will never ever be recaptured.

I remember as a child going to my first baseball game at the Arlington Stadium, with my family with the big scoreboard. Drinking Dr Pepper and wonder why my dad had on headphones while watching the game with binoculars. Good times!

Going through the 90s and wondering why they just don't get some pitching. Thanking God for Nolan Ryan's arrival to the front office. Definitely a paradigm shift.

The game of baseball teaches you so many things about working your way through life. The importance of patience, not giving up, the importance of team work, and dealing with pressure.

For many like me more so than with any sports team in Dallas being a fan of the Rangers is more like being a part of a tradition and a large family. When we won the World Series, I immediately thought of all the players and managers in our past before I could even think of what the win meant to me.

So we were definitely not dreaming, and yes "Hello, win column"!
